Not sure which exact one...upper middle molar...2 in front of the wisdom tooth is the best description I can give. Teeth below it are ok...worn out, but serviceable...:D
if you can use that tooth for chewing, it appears you can, then save it!

when you get that tooth pulled the teeth in front and behind it are going to move and tip into the space and really mess up your bite there.

i know it's hella expensive to go the root canal/crown root, but you should really consider it.
$3000-$3500 is a wicked high estimate. The root canal should run you a grand and the crown the same. (and these are max estimates)

call other dental offices and ask what a root canal/crown on an upper molar would cost.

Chewing on that side has been suspended indefinitely...:Q

The evening I had a piece of torilla chip lodge in there was the deciding factor...

(gotta remember, I'm in Kahleeforneeya...land of high prices...I don't mind if the assholes want to retire, but I do object when they think it should all come from me! ;)
price gouging!

I don't smoke, but when I got mine pulled last year they told me not to smoke, or drink from a straw for 3 days. The lower pressure in your mouth from sucking could cause the wounds to open back up. Not sure if this was true or not...

Yep...common advice. No straws, no smoking for 3 days.
Myself, the first thing I do when I walk out of the dentist's office is light up a smoke...
But it's NOT recommended by the dentist for good reasons...

oh, i thought you might say you spit blood. it's so appetizing to come into work in the morning and see that the last patient spit out a crapload of blood in the snow. it's also very pretty to witness the red on white.

spitting is about the worst thing you can do after an extraction.

Nah, and I'm pretty good about leaving the gauze compress in place as well, and changing it out periodically.

my breath is so bad right now i don't even want to talk to anyone.

i think it has to do with my temporary all-dairy (milk, smoothie, yogurt) and all-soup diet. i didn't even eat any real fruits since the extraction. even though i can still eat on one side of my mouth

i did brush my teeth, but was easy on the surgical site. i still have the stitchings in my gum and need them removed next week. i don't want to chew gum or risk disturbing the sensitive areas, any ideas what i should do to stop the bad breath?
