Thanks a lot for the replies everybody. Koing, I tried the one legged squats during my workout this evening and I actually did manage to push out 4 reps with a 45 lb. dumbell on my right leg. My left leg was a bit weaker, but not too far off. Thanks for the ideas.

Where were you holding the DB?

You could try squating normally but with the DB's in the OVER HEAD POSITION. That is also another good variety for more advanced people. So keep your arms up like your at the top of a Military Press position. Very tough stuff.

I'd say 15-20Kg for say 6reps would be good. This is using both legs btw this time around.

I'll share a milkshake recipe I invented back in the early 80's when I was in high school. I've always been a large muscular guy, but adding one or two of these shakes a day (combined with lots of strength training and good eating) I put on about 20 solid pounds in a very short period of time and had amazing strength gains and energy thoughout the day.

Oatmeal milkshake:

half cup of raw uncooked Oats
1 cup of milk
1 overripe bannana
pinch of cinnamon
1 whole Raw egg

Blend the above ingredients in a blender until smooth. Drink with a straw. The shake is loaded with lots of healthy protein and carbs and it's guaranteed to put mass on a pipe-cleaner. Just be sure to eat other nutritious food and get in plenty of time the gym with compound exercises.

That sounds so nasty. And a person really shouldn't consume raw eggs anymore.

I was holding the DB with the arm on the same side as the leg I was working, just hanging down at my waist. I'll give the mil press style squat as well.

That's nothing😉, here's one I eat:

2 cups milk
1 cup oats
2 scoops whey
2 tbsp natural PB

Comes out to about 900 cals or so, it's not extremely filling (good if you have trouble putting all that food down), and you can make it and down it in a couple minutes. You can also adjust the quantities of the ingrediants as needed. Other things I like to include are bananas and olive oil.

Hmm... those both sound pretty good, minus the raw egg.
