WoW is far from boring if you're in a good guild with good real life friends... nice cheap way to do things together and kill some bad weather days.

pretty much my entire department plays and we all play together.

I'd say it takes about half the time to get from 60-70 as it did from 1-60. Took me around 2 weeks to go from 60-70, and if I leveled a toon now from 1-60, I'd imagine it would take me a month, less depending on the class and how much I twink the guy.

I have 1 char at 70, and my alt warrior is at 65, but I haven't played him much at all, just using up a bit of rested xp here and there. I have a bit more time to level him now though, so I hope to push him to 70 over the next month.

Same, total waste of my 3 weeks to get to 70. :(

I actually had a good amount of fun leveling up.
I pretty much only played with a couple of specific friends that I had known for a long time ... But at the end game, there's not much good content for 2 or 3 man groups, and I hated trying to fill in enough spots to make a 5 man, and raiding makes me want to become an alcoholic, so no raiding for me.

Maybe, but it's something that I see in many threads anyway. Why do people have to be concerned with what others think?

most of them are married and have kids, some play wow with their spouse,

you may take a week off from work and go on a vacation others just sit arouond and read and relax, others play a video game, there really is no difference, different people like different things

IMO the games not worth your time unless you have a lot of time to put into it. And no one should out that kind of time into a video game. Quite a problem!
Great game, but takes too much time. I had a 67 Pally b4 I quit for the last time (after raiding for like 2 years)

It's been almost 3 months since BC was first released. I would imagine that almost everyone who bought the expansion around the opening release time would have lvled up their char by now....

Yeah, it doesn't stay on that exponential curve. Going from 69-70 for instance isn't twice has hard as going from say 65-66.

I think *nearly everyone* who was at 60 before the expansion is at 70 now. I started a few weeks late, played casually and made it.

Also the old rule, "The game doesn't begin until 60" is even more evident now. The amount of endgame content is enormous in BC. There what twice the number of endgame instances in outland than all of kalimdor and the eastern kingdoms combined.

boggle..

i dinged 58 after a month of on and off play and quickly levelled to 60 in the outlands.. great scenery in hellfire peninsula, awesome quest rewards, fun quests.

I'm in zangermarsh now at level 60 and its ok.. but i hate marshy areas.

60 is a bit low for zanger... hellfire should have lasted you to at least 62 even using 2 levels of exp getting to 60... make sure you did all the quests.. youll want to have as many full zones left at 70 to quest in for your mount..

my chars so far havent left hellfire till 64 stayed in zanger to 66 then to terror to 67 then nagrand to 70... leaving blades edge, shadowmoon and netherstorm all for cashing in for money..

Agree with you both.
Hellfire until about 62-63. Zanger for 63-64 (basically until you can survive in nagrand).

Jump to nagrand as soon as possible. Much more fun and much better graphics (beautiful music too...worth turning it back on while in this zone). Use blades edge and the first few quests of nether to finish the run to 70.

As a rule try to stay in a zone a little above your level and group+quest a lot. Being in Zanger at 60 is overdoing it though. Fall back to hellfire for a while. There are two pretty fun 5 man instances you can go through as well.

Just to give you an idea what it takes to go from 60-70. It's not that bad.

I play weekdays but only after the kid is in bed so basically not much.
On weekends I'll maybe raid one evening and play a couple hours during the day saturday or sunday.

Took just over 3 weeks I think with lots of help from guildies who had started weeks before me. I had quit playing probably a year and a half ago. I'm just not into the whole grind an instance over and over for that one drop kinda thing. New content or no-play for me. So far I'm still seeing all new content. At 70 I have a whole zone that I haven't even touched yet (quests or instances). There are at least 5-8 instances I've never seen.

I suppose you could go from 60-70 in under a week but that sounds more like work than play to me. You would also be missing out on RL terribly.

edit: at the pace I played I was rested (double xp for kills) the whole time from 60-70. I never saw the end-of-rested marker even once.

slowly getting there - almost 64 right now. Orc Warrior on Wildhammer!

I'm playing a few others at the same time, a lock (32), a druid (18) and a rogue (9)

I've done almost all the quests in Hellfire Penninsula and a good chunk of Zangar's. I enjoyed Ramps and BF (finished em both)...i want to hit Ramps a bunch more for all the tasty loots - plate and weapons. BF is disappointing in that regard. I did a bit of Underbog and Slave Pens too.

Have a few quests for Terokkar but haven't done much there really.

Thanks for the heads up on Nagrand, i'll head there asap! :)

Far as loot goes i've replaced a lot of my gear. Two items from MC and two AV epics left, i think that's it. I'm currently 6300hp, 5k armour, 1200ap, 23% crit self buffed! 0/41/13 spec

i don't know how some people get several characters to 60 (or now 70).
I tried creating alts and the highest I ever got was like 38 on my 2nd character.

It gets so boring doing the same crap over and over, especialy on the same faction.

changing factions only helps for a little bit but then it gets so boring again.
i think once you get to the max level and realize there's nothing to do after it, you ask yourself whats the point? why waste all that time to get to nothing again?

Yeah, Nagrand is a great zone, dinged a few levels there just doing quests. BEM sucks without a flying mount IMO...

I got TBC on release day and my main is level 66 right now. I don't play as much as most people in my guild do. I do a few quests a night and that's it. Maybe an instance run or 2 on the weekends. I'm enjoying the Nagrand zone right now and I like the new content so I'm not in a hurry to get to 70. :)
