YAVT- Yet Another Vegas Thread [with POLL]

I can only afford to stay in one of the following Hotels in Vegas (on the strip).

Which of the following would you choose?

Sahara
The Stratosphere
Tropicana
Circus Circus
New Frontier
Excalibur
San Remo

Out of those hotels, definitely Excalibur

did you get that list from crappiestvegashotels.com?

I would pick Excalibur only because it has a tram stop and it the closest to the big named casino. IIRC all the other ones are off the strip/far away.

i stayed in Circus Circus for 3 nights 2 weeks ago. it's ok. great prices. about the cheapest on the strip.

Excalibur, you're still on the strip and it's pretty nice

problem is that it's not on the main part of the strip. Excalibur is walking distance to the major hotels.

Yeah, I just want to spend one night on the strip. I'll be in airport hotels the other 2 nights.

Excalibur. IMO it's the best of the lot, it's close to the tram, and you've got lots around within walking distance (NYNY, MGM, Mandalay, etc...)

All of those are kinda crappy. I've had bad expriences with Excalibur myself.

for just one night, i'd stay at the MGM Grand. the best value in vegas if you ask me. prices are reasonable for one of the better Vegas hotels

Yeah but it's still not ever close to the same price as the ones listed in the poll. I agree, though; MGM is a great value, as is Luxor...at least in my experience.

i haven't stayed there in 10 years, but it sucked back then... full of people who think vegas is a kid friendly family vacation.

Actually there's an airport motel, a Howard Johnson's I believe -- just a few blocks from the strip. Long, long, blocks, but still.

The only thing the hotel in vegas is good for is hold your bags, shower, and a drunkin' night of sleeping. When you're wasted it doesn't matter how good the room is.

It's too late, but I stayed at the Tropicana when I went out... it was cheap, and that was the point of it. I didnt mind it terribly, but it was at one end of the strip and we were too cheap to pay for the monorail more than once... so we did a LOT of walking. Nice pool, not really great casino area... and ok rooms... just dont stay in the .. umm... garden rooms i think they're called. they're like crappy motel rooms. we upgraded to the tower.
