Yes, I know, as if we didn't have enough "what tablet to buy threads..." 😉 😛
Well, here is my contribution. I need to buy 2 or 3 tablets, which will be used mainly as media players, but also to play games and some web surfing. Target audience: My children, oldest being almost 11 years old.
I have been doing some reading, and the general consensus is to stay away from the cheapest ones (<$100) and resistive screens. It also seems to be general consensus that a nook color is the best bang for the buck, but at $250 will stretch the budget.
I would like stay as close to the $150 mark as possible, and found that the Coby Kyros MID-7022 (ToysRus) is at $150. Reviews seem very positive on this one, and has capacitive screen. This might be my front-runner.
Is there a better option between $150-$200? Viewsonic gpad? Refurb nook color? Should I take the plunge and get a Vizio 8" from Costco, or even higher, get a new nook color with coupon from staples?
Thanks
Alex
