Sorry if it's a repost, I did a search...

Bloons TD

Only one difficulty, and no 'score' to speak of, so the goal is to win without losing any lives. I guess you could compete over who ends with the most money or something too if you wanted :)

After a few tries I was able to get all the way through losing no lives. I haven't tried to see how much money I can get and still have all my lives, though.

Good luck!

Took me 3 or 4 tries, but I was able to beat it without losing any lives. The trick is getting a super monkey as soon as possible.

Eh, I tried playing around with super monkeys, but I had the most success just building a few darts and then a ton of tacks.

I think at the end I had about 7 darts and 25 or 30 tacks. The darts didn't do much but helped at the start, and helped to catch stray ones that get past tacks.

The super monkeys are neat and fun to see but I think 8 more fully upgraded tack turrets would be a better use of 4000 :) (or more, if you upgraded your super monkey!)

The last time I tried playing with the ice and bomb ones, but I found that, for the cost, they weren't as good as just buying more tacks!

I'm also interested in what strategies people use on BTD4 - as early as possible, I start getting banana factory things - the interest pays off well. I line the top & bottom of the screen with them, plus 3 toward the bottom left above the water. Once fully upgraded, that's 24,000 per round. Plus, once you get to round 105, I believe I was getting 60-70,000 just for the balloons, so at that point, I started selling off the factories & replacing with more supermonkeys.

Are there combos better than just supermonkeys, upgraded ice towers & monkey beacons?

edit: at level 75 now; nothing even gets around the first corner. Last time I got to 106 & it crashed my computer. Need more RAM & need to put the new upgraded processor in!

You can continue past level 50, but you can't save your game (if you sign up for an account) past level 50. I can get to level 106. I was trying to figure out if I've become invincible or not in the game. My computer won't go past level 106 though - Firefox crashes. And, the lag is so bad by level 103-104 that those levels take forever, not to mention about 70,000 balloons per level at that point (coming in the form of a seemingly endless stream of those big red blimps that each contain 4 blue blimps that each contain...)

Played the expert track on hard last night & made it to level 38 on the first try. Wasn't as much fun though as just popping bloons mindlessly on the beginner track.

For the most part, I'm pretty sure that's the ticket. I think it might be worth getting a few of the glue guns spread around. They don't help against the blimps, but are very helpful against everything else.

The MOAB killers seem like a good idea for the 10x damage vs moabs, but laser supermonkeys are better, even against MOABs.

The highest level battleship is pretty good, roughly close to a laser supermonkey. don't know if that justifies the money, but maybe if you run out of real estate.

The wizards are pretty hard to figure out... maybe put one or even two near the end? They aren't really useful vs. the blimps, but can blow regular bloons back a decent ways.

Airplanes are too annoying. Mortars too, they need to be re-aimed. The upgraded tack thing sucks, so do the boomerangs.

My strategy - for beginner board on easy:
2 or 3 of the boomerang throwers, upgraded so they can kill a dozen balloons at a time & one cannon; no upgrade needed. Just position them so you have a second chance after they've gone half way around the track. Then start investing in the research centers. 5 across the top, 4 across the bottom, and 3 across the bottom left above the lake. Keep things on the board at a minimum while upgrading those buildings. Once they're paying out $2000 per round, each, you're in great shape. As needed, add in a monkey or two. Be ready to put a pineapple down on the two rounds where camo bloons come out (round 23 I believe). If you're keeping your build to a minimum, use the tacks sparingly & at the last second if anyone gets through. This way, you can add a super monkey just about every round. Once you get the first couple, you're invincible to at least round 70.

As you get more and more supermonkeys, keep the ones near the beginning focused on "strongest". Keep the ones at the end or beginning of long straightaways on last or first (respectively) so that you get maximum benefit of their firepower. You waste a lot of firepower if they're turning at an angle & firing at one bloon. Sprinkle ice towers into the game as you go, to keep bloons moving slowly the entire trip. Also put in some of those enhance towers, whatever they're called.

wizards are the secret weapon. a large group of them will move balloons en masse back to the beginning. use about a 3 to 2 ratio of wizards and sun monkeys and nothing will get past you.

hm. on the easy map, intermediate diff., haven't gotten past about 93 or so.

On the easy setting, I just got up to 118 when my browser crashed. Almost every pixel of non-road covered with a tower, mostly sungods of course. It looks like the dart monkeys have the smallest footprint and can fit into tiny little gaps, towards the end I had one with a few thousand pops. Had about 20 airplanes, they really add to the lag, but do help kill. Put like 5 mortars at the very bottom of the map, all targeted at the entrance. Four boats in the water, but you could maybe fit six if you wanted.

Kinda burned out on it obviously but considering buying a membership so I can make my own map. :(

Yeah, ummm, we already a dozen or so threads on this. In the correct forum,. Dr. Pizza.
:p

Also, if you sign up for a mochi games account you get a free upgrade for your cannons, and it is so worth it. And glue monkeys are awesome one you give them the Soak Through ability. When you have plenty of cash upgrade them to Splatter and the map will be MUCH easier.
Trust me, I already got to career rank 62 and that requires about 10 million pops. I am an uber nerd.

Easy board hard level - I die on level 77. Then I sold all banana republics for one sun monkey used the super monkey storm and got to level 80 but again at 81 I died... not enough time call another storm of super monkeys... :(. Tried several combinations over the weekend but 81 is the best I could do...

For those of you who wanna know how bad it can get:

BloonsTD4.JPG

Eventually I got 20 BFB's and 40 MOABS on the screen at the same time. The problem is once you crack them you have thousands of little bloons and they cant be killed fast enough. They get in the way of your Sun Gods trying to crack the big guys. And the Wizard monkeys cant Tornado them back in time. You can only use the Super Monkey Strike once every 4 minutes. So even if you have the spare bannanas to use it, you arent allowed.
