How about you both get a matching L tatoo on your forehead?
We hired a guy here at work a few months ago who always wears polo shirts with a long sleeve white shirt underneath. At first I thought he just had zero fashion sense and liked looking like a dork but then I saw him one day with his arms bare and he has tatoos up and down both arms. He was wearing the long sleeve shirts to cover his tats.</end quote></div>
.....Oh! Because people with tattoos are losers! I get it.....how clever!
It certainly must apply to people like your co-worker, who has to cover up his arms, because he knows people like you will go and have a gossipy tea party about it.
Here's the thing, tattoos in a business environment are not acceptable. If you get a full sleeve of tattoos, you've got another thing coming if you expect to be accepted in a professional environment. Jules, I think you're coworker really is an idiot for getting full sleeves and wanting to work in a professional setting.
I have a half sleeve on my left arm. It covers my bicep to my upper shoulder completely. I love it. If I had it my way, I would love to get a full length sleeve. Of course I didnt and I never will have that done because Im an accountant and I know I would never be respected by a room full of CPA's with visible tattoos. If I wear a regular t shirt, my tattoos can be seen. At work, we have a business dress code, so I dont have to worry about that. And even on casual friday, my polos cover my tattoos completely. Im very cautious not to expose my tattoos in the office or at a client's site.
So my opinion is that if you want to succeed in a professional environment, you should know better and not succomb to your desire to get a bunch of visible tattoos. However, you can have them tastefully done in areas that are not visible with business attire, including casual polos.
All this talk about taste is just that...it's merely just a person's taste. Honestly, I only know a handful of people who don't have tattoos. Those that do have tattoos include engineers, cpa's, doctors, physical therapists, veterinarians, teachers, etc, etc.
Ok, that's all.
