Things look like they are going to get interesting with regards to the Palestinian Authority Administration in a hurry...

By Wafa Amr
PARIS (Reuters) - Palestinian President Yasser Arafat was in a coma and in critical condition in the intensive care unit at a French military hospital on Thursday after his health suddenly deteriorated, aides said.

They said doctors carrying out tests on the 75-year-old leader since he was airlifted to France last Friday still did not know what was wrong with him, despite ruling out leukemia.

"Arafat is in a coma and in a critical condition," a senior Palestinian official told Reuters. Aides had earlier said he was in serious condition in the unit where he was moved on Wednesday at around 5 p.m. (11 a.m. EST).

A briefing by the hospital had been expected at 11 a.m. (5 a.m. EST) but was put off without any explanation.

"New tests have been carried out including an endoscopy (visual internal examination). Nothing was found out from those tests," a senior aide said earlier on Thursday.

Too bad he's probably not going to be able to fullfill his dream of being a suicide bomber.

some desires ought to remain unfulfilled. but if he survives and makes his way back to Palestine, oops I mean Israel, the sharon gang might blow him up in mid air. Not completely a suicide bomber but may be half way through.

I suspect assassination.

That won't be confirmed until after a full autopsy. Assuming that will ever be made public or if one will even be carried out.

Could be wrong but it's very likely.

He's 75. Nobody has mentioned assasination, so it's actually very likely that he is simply dying of old age. Or, maybe Bush did it?

Considering his enemies and the fact that they can't find anything wrong with him you must be joking.

French doctors are desperately seeking traces of poisons/ unknown viruses, because all other tests have failed... Officially Arafat is not sick, because there is nothing wrong with him... except he's dying of unknown condition. So, I bet on Mossad...

They know he currently has a low blood platelette count. Its also distinctly possible that the doctors know what's wrong with him, but are not saying due to a request by Arafat and the PA.

I think Israel would have assasinated him directly if they wanted to do that. If his death is not from natural causes, as you already noted the autopsy results would show this, and that would lead to about the same effect as a direct assasination. If the actual assasination occured in the hospital in Paris, that would cause a huge diplomatic incident dwarfing an ordinary Israeli asssasination.

So if he dies and the French don't find anything that caused it ..... it's the Israelis that killed him ? or would you accept that it was natural causes ?

It's not too late. Quick, put him in a motorized wheelchair and send him down the halls of the hospital running down French medical personnel. :Q :Q

If he was poisened, there are numerous drugs that are untracable and leave almost no mark if injected.
Conspiracy theorists will have a field day.

Well one bad leader out, one back in.

Seriously, I won't lose much sleep over Arafat's passing. My concern is what happens next. It MAY be that Arafat has had a restraining influence, not out of the goodness of his heart, but because going too radical would cost him his position of power. Should be interesting over the next few months.

Does Arafat Have AIDS?

by Malcolm Thornberry

(Paris) As French doctors continue to run tests on
Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat some medical
authorities not connected directly to his case are
suggesting that he may have HIV/AIDS.

Palestinian Foreign Minister Nabil Shaath Monday said
that all types of cancer had been ruled out.

Arafat has been visibly ill for more than two weeks.
Last Wednesday he collapsed and briefly lost
consciousness. Initial blood tests performed in the
West Bank revealed a low blood platelet count. The
Palestinian leader was airlifted to France where he is
undergoing more tests.

But, with leukemia and other forms of cancer ruled
out, the list of possible diseases is narrowing.

A low blood platelet count is a sign of a weakened
immune system. In addition to cancer, the low count
could be attributed to bleeding ulcers, colitis, liver
disease, lupus, or HIV. It is believed that ulcers and
colitis have already been ruled out.

Arafat has lost a considerable amount of body weight.
Hopital d'Instruction des Armees de Percy, southwest
of Paris, also has some of France's best HIV/AIDS
doctors.

For several years there have been suggestions that
Arafat was bisexual.

Ion Pacepa, who was deputy chief of Romanian foreign
intelligence under the Ceaucescu regime and who
defected to the West in 1978, says in his memoirs that
the Romania government bugged Arafat and had
recordings of the Arab leader in orgies with his body
guards.

If the suggestions that Arafat has AIDS are true, it
is doubtful it would be made public.

Hmmmm, they mentioned he has been having a lot of soup the last couple of months.

Possible Glycol (anti-freeze) poisoning???

A woman in Georgia killed her Policman husband and a Fireman Boyfriend that way just a couple of years ago.

They exhumed their bodies and found the Glycol poisoning.

She gave it to them over a period of time through their coffee.
