When the lady behind the counter goes "You know that's made with pork right?"
I think it's most likely that she was making sure you wouldn't say "Wait, it's pork? I don't want your swine flu meat!" after she had made the burrito.

I think you're right. It's probably because a ton of dumbasses had came in earlier and bitched when they found out it was pork. I guess she just figured MIKEMIKE was dumb. 😉

I'm pretty they have ALWAYS said that. Mostly for the benefit of people who are ordering vegetarian burritos and don't realize that the pinto beans have meat in them.

carnitas/barbacoa burrito w/ pinto beans, lettuce, sour cream, cheese, tomato, corn, and hot sauce...

That sounds disgusting. Pinto beans, tomato, corn and lettuce with barbacoa? /vomit

Chicken, black beans, cheese, hot sauce, lettuce. Nothing else. NO CORN.

FINALLY a voice of reason. I can't believe it took this many replies before this came up..it's always been said, and it has absolutely nothing to do with swine flu..

IS it only Americans that are this dense about the swine flu? I was inside the Hospital eating a baconator for lunch the other day. I wonder what would happen if I did that in a US hospital. Would they jump me and put me in quarantine and run the burger through the lab? 😛

Even if swine flu came from pork, there's this thing we do to pork, what's it called? Oh yeah, cooking.

Am I the only one that eats it raw?...

Trichinosis is going to be your problem. Forget the flu.

They have words in Spanish that convey similar meaning as our English words.

Well, Egypt is slaughtering all of their pigs and Asian countries are banning imports of American pork so I'm going to go ahead and say that this one time other people managed out stupid Americans.

Trichinosis is a problem of the past, at least in the U.S.

I'm surprised you weren't run through the lab after ingesting a baconater. 😉

FWIW it is still present in the animals, we have just become a whole lot better at managing it.
Cooking standards, freezing meat, etc. Despite better practices on farms about the diet of swine, I would still never eat rare pork.
