"I don't know that I could blame JetBlue, to be totally fair," said the mom.

I have to wonder whether she was being a parent, or why it took so long to get the kid belted in.

But once the kid was in her seat, it was stupid to turn the plane around and go back to the gate.

We don't know, but the kid could have been belted in and still belting it out! Maybe the pilot thought it better to have the screaming child off his plane in the interest of his other passengers.

Holy hell, a reasonable human being!

You forgot the rest of the quote...

"I don't know that I could blame JetBlue, to be totally fair," said the mom. "I just feel like it's airplane travel today in general. I was certainly upset by the way this flight attendant handled the situation. As a result, yeah, I would probably try to avoid JetBlue in the future."

You must be a journalist or a politician with your elite selective quoting skills!
I called out the part of the quote that I thought was relevant proof she is a reasonable person, didn't feel that the rest of it contradicted that fact so I didn't quote it.

Still seems like a reasonable person. She gets why they did it, realizes it's simply the way of the world right now, objects to how it was handled (without letting that impact her view that the airline had some grounds for what they did) and personally doesn't want to re-engage with that airline.

I don't think omitting the rest of the quote changes the fact that she seems to be demonstrating that she is not a raving lunatic that clearly deserved to be booted from the flight.

Good for Jet Blue. Being cooped up in a tube with a screaming toddler is not something I'd pay money to experience.

Good, and restaurants should take the same policy. Any child that can't act in a way that doesn't disrupt the experience of someone else should be taken outside and given an ass kicking.

I dont have kids yet but I cant stand parents who let their kids just run around and do what they want. I understand that kids will have their melt downs and stuff like that but when they just sit back and allow their kids to disrupt everyone else because they are to lazy to do anything about it bugs me to no end.

i have kids. 2 of them. No way in hell would i let them do that.

Part of that though is taking them out and teaching them how to behave in a restaurant. What i expect from them at home is different then how i expect from them at any restaurant.

We have left a few places because one decided to have a fit. A few punishments latter they don't misbehave very often anymore.

Restaurant here does that. 18 and over policy only, and plates start at $20. Guess it's really just a bar for old people now that I think about it.

Kids aren't always easy to control. Paying for a plane ticket isn't the same as walking out of a restaurant..

i was in Marshalls last week because I needed a belt, and there was this 6 or 7 year old boy who was following his mom just crying his brains out. you could also tell it was totally fucking forced and fake as shit and all he wanted was attention from his mom. but his mom kept on walking and just letting him do it.

pissed me the fuck off hearing that little bitch cry like a fucking 4 year old girl. but i was in Marshalls after all so i can't really be surprised.

actually that is the advice nearly every child expert says to do (at least the books i read when my daughter was born). IF the child is doing the forced crying for attention or for a toy. the best thing is to ignore it and in time they won't do it.

we didn't do that. it was a word of warning before we get into a store and one when they start it. then its out to the car while the other parent finishes shopping.

It is her decision and is perfectly reasonable, just as the pilot's decision to turn the flight back.

thepilot's decision to turn the flight back because of a toddler throwing a tantrum is beyond stupid. he is not capable of making good decisions and should be banned from flying.

this shit never happened in the 70s, 80s, or 90s. kids cried freely on planes. imagine if you threw a tantrum while your folks were just coming to america for the first time and they made u go back. u would not be gleaming here with that attitude thats for sure. be happy u didnt turn into a chaiwala.

The only reason they turned back is because they were on still on the ground you dim wit. You regard all authority as evil.

Good on the airline. Who want's to sit in a small tube with a screaming child when the airline can do something about it?
