They shut down UW, so no law classes today. Kind of a shame since I was looking forward to being one of the few people who braved the commute.

Growing up on the other side of the state, I always LOL'd at how little snow it takes to shut down Western Washington.
Now that I'm in California, I wouldn't venture out in a car with a half-inch of snow...these fucking morons can't drive on dry roads...snow would be a comedy of errors...with tragic endings.

Joyful Southeastern Idaho! Still snowed in, wind is harder now than when I wrote the first post.

Where at? We lived in "Poke-a-fellow" for a while (actually Chubbuck)...then the company transferred me to Big Piney, Wyoming for a couple of years.

As I remember, that country can get nasty fucking cold in the winter. (-35 in the winter of 84-85)

Was 65 yesterday in NW burbs of Chicago. Today it's in the 20s, but, we can actually see the sun... so it's pretty nice out. Also wind has died down, and rain has stopped.

That was some crazy weather yesterday, we had tornado watches around SE Wisconsin along with the rain/tstorms. The temps were definitely nice though. Today it was sunny and friggen cold.

we drove up out of Jackson and up 33 this year after leaving Yellowstone.
West through Rexburg and then back north on I-15.
Work was called off again, the vendor will not deliver the structure to us till Monday. I love those guys.

Wow Americans are pansies 😛

We had a high of 3F (-16 C) and a low of -9F (-23 C) here today and everyone worked as a normal day. That's before windchill.

The line of work I'm in doesn't afford that option, 24/7 coverage and if your scheduled, you have to go in no matter the weather. At least I don't work outside.

Unfortunatly for me i cant really not go to work. I dispatch for a tow truck company and too bad for me even if i get stuck and am unable to drive to work the dispatcher i am going to work to relieve will find a truck to tow me to work so he can go home.

Working in the snow is brutal, 50-100 or more calls holding with 6-12 hour ETA's. I get yelled at every call i take "what the fuck do you mean its going to take you 8 hours to boost my fucking car!!!! i gotta get to work" people just dont understand that the police have priority and there are a hundred people ahead of them in line.

Crap. We get Chicago's weather a day later. (usually)
If it's going to be cold, I want snow.

I live about 5 miles out of St. Anthony, out towards Teton. About 75 - 80 miles north of "Poke-a-fellow". Just spent 2 hours digging out the driveway so I can get out now, but work is canceled for today.

If you went out of Jackson and went along 33 to get to Rexburg you were within viewing distance of my house. I can look out my window and see Hiway 33 between Teton and Newdale. It's several miles away, but that's one of the roads that usually has someone moving on it.

When did it start snowing in Modesto 😛
Yeah, I agree with you though. Although stupid drivers are everywhere, we Californians aren't really used to snowy conditions.

Hey...we get snow here. About every 10 years, it snows just enough that you can see it in the air...and <gasp> it even falls to the ground!!

We've been here going on 24 years, and haven't had any ACTUAL snow yet...but...you just never know. It DOES happen here in the valley. Last year, they got several inches around Stockton/Lodi.
