I'm trying to land a supervisory role in customer service and I had to create a resume from scratch. I've had a friend look at it and give me pointers, but I feel like I sound like a total tool in it. Am I being paranoid? Anyone have any tips?

You need to add more technical details. All it shows is that you worked in support and know Microsoft word.

Take out "team player" and "possess solid computer skills", unless you want to give specific examples for those.

Well, if you're going to put "Education" and list where you're going, maybe some more information would be useful? Number of hours, or "200x - " or something.

Take out the line "references available upon request". Also as others have said, you need a date to go along with your education. If you are still a student, then just put 20XX-Present, or whatever. How is your GPA? If it's > 3.0, you might want to put it down.

Also, are those boxes around the text just part of a template, or will they show up in your actual resume? I wouldn't want my actual resume to have those boxes on it.

Do you have any coursework that is relevant to the position?
