YART: Jay-Z's Black Album

for all you rap-haters, please keep your comments to yourself. They're not wanted here.
Anyway, for those of you that have heard it, what do you think of Jigga's final album? I think it's great and the perfect album for Jigga to go out on. Some classic songs on there (December 4th, My First Song, Justify My Thug, Encore, and pretty much everything else!). Any Jigga fans out there concur on this one? listening to December 4th right now, I love this song 🙂 Sooooooo Jigga.
Edit: and if you can't respect that your whole perspective is whack, maybe you'll love me when I fade to black...

And on a related note, Roca's blowin up right now! Kanye West is da shizzle! Jigga, Kanyeezee, Cam'ron, Beans and the rest are takin over this rap sh!t 😉

I don't see how it's old news.... It takes awhile before people truly begin to appreciate a work such as this anyway. I just figured that people would have more of an appreciation for the album now that the fact that it's Jigga's last has had time to sink in.

Do a search for greatest rapper of all time, I think it's in there. Also, I quoted a verse from "Threat" in the thread called something like "Are there any intelligent rap songs?"... It's not a secret if u've been following Black Album since it was released last year.

EDIT:
Link added to "Threat" lyrics.

Last year was only a couple weeks ago 😉 Oh, and I wholeheartedly agree about Jigga. Best. Rapper. Ever. There are other greats but no one can touch Jigga.

For some reason I have a feeling that you're a big fat troll in regards to this and the religion posts that you have previously made. -- If you truly aren't and really do believe in God and like rap music, please forgive me.

No comment. Your post is obviously flamebait and you're a hypocrite.

I guess there aren't as many Jigga fans on ATOT as I had expected... In that case: what does everyone think about Kanyeezee's new CD?

Awesome! Kanye's album is real nice.

And when I perish, the meek shall inherit the Earth, until that time, it's on and poppin', CHUUUCH! - Jay Z

i like it. and thats tough for me to admit, because i aint been feelin' jay-z since reasonable doubt. even though he did put on a good show when i went to the hard knock life tour. but pretty much, he lyrically sacrificed his career to push units. a lot of people like the 'bounce wit me' beats and lyrics, but id much rather put in a nas or talib kweli cd and hear what they have to say and listen to their message. but this cd is a nice farewell, and he put a lot heart into his words and songs. i enjoyed it immensely.

Yes, he said Reasonable Doubt was his best. His lyrics were purer, almost.

em murdered jay's flow in renegades.

There's an original thought, I'll bet you came up with that all on your own too!

Not only that but you got the song title wrong. It's called "Renegade". Of course, if you had ever actually listened to the song you would probably know that...
Oh, and just to clarify: anxi, the fact that you mentioned your preference of Nas over Jigga in your previous post only proves my point (after all, it was Nas who said "Eminem murdered you on your own sh!t"). For fvck's sake you even used the same phrase as Nas (for all intents and purposes).

Go parrot your anti-Jigga/anti-rap message somewhere else.

Jesus christ, I said I'm not a rap fan. I think most of it is garbage, but some of it is okay. I don't expect you to know much of the music I like, let alone, know the titles for every song. So what if I accidently put an extra letter?

I listened to the song, and its a good song. Regardless, Eminem sounds better than JayZ. Its my opinion. I could careless who has more album sales or who is more popular or whatever.

You sound like some uber-JayZ fanboy who overreacts to anything negative about him.

First of all, my post wasn't addressed to you, but I guess minor details like that are unimportant when it gives one the opportunity to bash someone else

I guess you also missed the first post in this thread where I asked non-rap fans to please keep their negative comments to themselves.
Thanks for the veiled unsult about my taste in music as well. As though your choice of music is somehow better than mine.

You were addressing me. anxi80 claimed he liked Nas. How does he have an anti-rap message if he likes Nas? I said I wasn't a rap fan, so its obvious you were addressing me. But I guess minor details like that are unimportant when given the opportunity to bash 😛.

I didn't have any negative comments. I said Eminem raped better than JayZ in Renegade. Is that a negative comment? Did I say JayZ sucks? No. My comment was neutral. I said someone else was better, its my opinion, get over it.

Alot of rap is garbage, its true. But some of it is nice. Every genre is the same way, theres good stuff, and there is crap. I never claimed to hate any particular group of music or say any genre was better than another. I just said I don't expect everyone to know everything about my particular genre of music, and when anything posted about my music, flame them over an extra "s" in a song title.

It is apparent you are the only one insulting anyone. Just grow up a little.
