YAPT (Yet another pity thread)

I'm a computer science and engineering student and this semester was my last of classes (I have my senior design project next semester). I've maintained a 4.0 GPA every semester, but upon checking my grades I see that I received a 3.5 in one of my classes. I really don't know what to do. I feel sick, but I know that it is probably the grade I deserved. It just sucks because I worked so hard to have everything disappear with one class during my last semester. I'm contemplating asking the prof for an incomplete so I can retake it, but I have a feeling he won't let me unless I say I cheated or something. Am I crazy?

Couldn't you just retake it anyways and have the new grade replace the old one. Used to be able to do that at my old university but there was a limit on how many times you could repeat a course.

to say that u cheated is the dumbest thing ive ever heard in my life - do u think he'll magically give u an A after telling him that. dude, u got what u deserved - u even said that. now live with it. this is an important lesson that u definately need to learn.

I don't know if you are crazy or not but your spelling could use some work.

You say you deserved the grade so just buck up and take it like a man. It's not going to matter one way or the other. Be happy with your grades.

wtf you're seriously worked up over getting a 3.5?!? hell, by the end of my career i was aiming to get 3.0s if I was lucky lol my cumulative 2.something was sooooooooo bad! GPAs don't count worth crap in the tech industry, its all about experience and what you can/can't do

Good lord people, give the guy a break. He got a 4.0 for all but his last semester of classes...that's an accomplishment in and of itself, especially in an engineering program. He obviously isn't in "need" of learning a lesson about hard work.

As for the grade itself: it sucks that it's gonna kill your 4.0 and chance of graduating as a presidential scholar, but if it's the grade you deserved, then there's probably little you can do. You could try pleading your case to the prof. and asking for an incomplete, but as the grade's already been entered, I'm not sure that it's possible. No harm in trying, though.

Edit: these guys are at least right about one thing, though. If you're planning on going right into work rather than grad school, then a company isn't really going to care that your GPA is a 3.99999 as opposed to a 4.0. I'd imagine that it looks about the same to them, and that they'd be more interested in practical experience/internships.

Well, I already have a job lined up, so it's not about that. It's a foolish pride issue I guess. I hate to lose.

Am I crazy?
Hella yes😀
Your gpa is still good enough

At least you have a decent user name. Rick Mears ---> famous race car driver......

Reminds me of when I went back to college a few years ago for networking. I had a perfect 4.0 until the last class because I had missed an exam and didn't have the opportunity to make it up. For a short while I was disappointed with myself but it didn't take long to think who gives a sh!t! I couldn't care less now because in the big picture of things it means nothing and I was only trying to do it for me and nobody else anyway.

i think your only solution is suicide...

or maybe you can bribe the prof?

what collage do you go to that a 3.5 exists? i get an A or a B nothing else.
