Fuck Paypal.

I went through a bunch of bullshit with them a few years ago.

I made a "one-time donation" to one of the reef aquarium sites...which proceeded to convert that into an annual subscription without notifying me. I only found out when Paypal took the money out the following year. I contacted Paypal about it...they said to contact the site...who said to contact Paypal...I went through all the bullshit and FINALLY was able to speak to a live human being at Paypal...who told me that I didn't have any subscriptions on my service. Of course, they couldn't refund the money since it had already been transferred...🙄 But they assured me that I didn't have ANY recurring subscriptions for my account, and that it wouldn't happen again. I insisted that he send me an email confirming this...which he did.

The following year...yep...they tried to debit my paypal account again...twice. I had intentionally drawn that account down to near zero the month before...just in case. They tried twice to debit that account...and it triggered overdraft fees at the credit union...and at Paypal. I contacted paypal several times over this issue...and even forwarded the confirming email from their own rep...and they still insist that I had a recurring subscription...even after I printed and emailed them a copy of my account showing no recurring subscriptions...
My credit union reversed the overdraft charges and blocked Paypal from debiting that account.

FUCK Paypal.
 
sadly only retards get fucked by paypal most of the time. There have been very few real cases of it being paypals fault.

'Tis what I've found also.

I'm not sure where the problem lays in Boomer's case.

Paypal does seem to "hide" the "My preapproved payments" and I have to check it every once in awhile to se if something I purchased came with a recurring payments.

Did you let the recipient reef site know how the donation was handled?

Yeah, I swapped several emails with the administrators of the site...They finally purged it from their database...🙄
My paypal account has been closed ever since.

Fuck PayPal...and fuck Ebay.

I'll tell you what I always tell him.....if you know the rules/regulations/laws of their "game" it makes it much easier to "play" and occasionally you may win.

I buy things online all the time and haven't had a paypal account in years. I just buy on Amazon. eBay is way past its prime.
