According to the source posted above, the spokesperson from BMW said "Beamer" / "bimmer" refer to the BMW name, SO YOU COULD USE EITHER FOR THE CAR.

Plus, who cares? It's just a small thing.

Dammit, it's not "bimmer" it's BEAMER.
As stated above, you're wrong.

Hey I have a good idea. Lets have everybody who has an account here on the AT forums come into this thread and say that I'm wrong. Come on! Everybody now!!

Let's see what my poll says...

So far it says "beamer" :)

Yeah posted by idiots that may never own one.

Trust us on this BIMMER = CAR, BEAMER = BIKE, if you own one call it what you want though.

However, why don't you make it easy and just say BMW....

a poll on it, jesus, and 90% answering probably have no idea except someone else said BEAMER and that sound aight....if people here spent as much time on women as they did on stupid things there would be any YAGT's :)

I think he personally told those two pip-squeak mechanics in the 3rd picture that they'd do a good job on his car ... or else.

I remember reading on a BMW forum that "Bimmer" refers to BMW cars, and "Beamer" refers to their bikes

don't know how widely accepted that is but...

EDIT - looks like I've been beaten to the punch repeatedly

I have always wanted to drive one of those as they are so wierd.

It'd make a pretty casket too when you have to stop short with an Escalade tailgating you ;)

I wanted to drive a Trabant personally. I kept seeing them a lot this summer (visiting another country) and had the unexplainable urge to drive one into a wall. :)
