So I am in a good shape and want to stay that way. I have a pretty healthy diet, eating lots of quality meat and veggies. Salad twice a day. No Soda (quit 2 weeks ago). No alcahol other than weekends...

But I want to add some flavor into my day... some fruits... I know fruits have sugar... but I don't know much more about them...

So what fruits are good for you? I know oranges and grapefruits have lots of carbs for example. Are those bad carbs, or good?

Can you all give me some advice on this subject.

Thanks.

what fruits are bad? dood you've gotta be smoking some serious crack......i'd come close to saying avocado because it has alot of oils, but it's still healthy in reasonable proportions. balance is the key, whether you're eating fruits or ice cream.

Where do you get the idea that you can't have sugar & be in shape?

All and any fruit is going to be good for you. They contain sugar, but it isn't the same as foods like pasta and potatos.

Eat what tastes good... and then just be active and you should be ok. Most fruit probably has about the same healthiness.

It's pretty hard to eat fruit that's bad for you. Most fruit is GOOD for you, and sure, anything becomes bad in large quantities but in terms of fruits you'd have to be razing the supermarket to be in danger.

Heh.. a double post seperated by 2 minutes.

Nah. Since plant matter is about the only thing you can eat that is nutritionally dense, it's isn't going to do any harm.

You might want to mix it up though. The more fibre the fruit has, the better.

Well, I eat so many vegetables + salad, I don't think I will need any more fibers :p

Professional body builders shun fruits while "cutting" to get to as low a bodyfat percentage as possible. However, body builders are NOT pictures of good health, and many of the things they do are quite UNhealthy.

Fruits are fine, and have great nutritional benefits. If you are trying to lose weight, you should moderate your fruits (just like you do with all foods), but you don't have to shun them.
