I realize that Phile Hughes was first round pick and big time investment, but so far Kennedy looked much better than Hughes. Why does Hughes continue getting starts?

Ian Kennedy was shut down for the season due to a sore muscle in his upper back.

Kennedy has done well...exceeding expectations at each level in the minors. He has also had some nice starts in the majors, but I still think in the end Phil will be the better starter.

Just look at what Phil did that night in Texas.

I forgot to add....These young prospects sure do excite me. I've been following the Yanks' minor league system for a few years now, and am confident in the abilities of many of these guys.

Just look at next year's possible rotation:

Wang
Hughes
Chamberlain
Kennedy
Pettitte

Four of those guys are young and cost controlled. One can also not forget about the other young arms the Yankees have in their system, including Humberto Sanchez, who they received in the Gary Sheffield deal. Humberto had TJ this past year, but is progressing well and should be pitching sometime in the Spring.
