balks are pretty rare. it's generally called when the pitcher tries to deceive the baserunners.

The balk rule is to prevent pitchers from doing that kinda stuff more often though.

It pisses me off because a lot of people get away with it in high school ball. Can't move at all once you come set in the stretch and can't stop winding up like he did.

Sox need to come back soon so that the 8th and 9th aren't as pressure-filled.
