Yankees Pull Out of Johnson Trade Talks

dont believe the hype. All the Yanks have to do is bring a 3rd team into the mix to get it done.

Did you see the list of players that the Diamondbacks wanted from the third team?
If the Yankees could get half the guys on the list, they would over Randy, I mean Randy is good,
but he is also old. If the Yankees could get a Tim Hudson, Barry Zito, or Scott Kazmir,
they wouldn't be trading for Johnson, because they would rather have the good young
pitching.

Not to mention you know the Diamondback are asking too much when the Yankees are complaining
the asking price is too high. I mean seriously, Johnson, for Vazquez, Gordon , Halsey and
prospects and the cash to pay the salarys of both Vazquez and Gordon. I'm not suprised the
Yankees said no. That also doesn't include the obvious contract extention Johnson wants if he
gets traded. I'm surprised the Diamondback didn't ask the Yankees to throw in some cash for making
building improvements to Bank One Ballpark as well.

While, I don't completely think the Yankees are completely out of the trade talks, I think they realize the
Diamondback not only aren't going to give Johnson away, they want unrealistic demands in return.

Well the Diamondbacks know they have one of the prize players and are trying to parlay him into a whole farm system. Cant blame them. There system is lacking young talent and this is there shot at rebuilding it. They are trying to pull a Herschel Walker type deal. Bottom line is, give them what they want or they just continue to send him out every 5 days.
