I can't say that I'm suprised. I HATE the Yankees. Hopefully they will get knocked out in the first round of playoffs.

Well, they swept their likely first round opponents tonight.

BAH! To hell with the yanks and whats with Gardenhire taking out his pitchers after only 5 innings?? They are gonna have a hell of a break until the playoffs and some pitchers don't respond well to that. Guess they'll get bullpen work or something.

I hope the Angels win the West... play the Yanks.. and sweep them. I don't trust Pedro and the Red Sox for some reason... remember.. the Yankees is Pedro's daddy.

$180 million and they don't clinch untill the last week of the season? :disgust:

BTW, there was an excellent article on the differences between the Yankees and other teams in today's NYT. The Yankee fans might want to check it out :)

Its sad that as the OP of this you had the slightest doubt in your mind, and that upon discovering you doubted for nothing were so elated that you had to cheer.

True Yankee fans expected nothing less. :p

I had no doubt they would clinch but us Yankees fans aren't bitter and deluded like you Sox fans who can't seem to take pleasure in anything but a Yankees failure.

Typical Sox fan attitude but not unexpected.

And no I'm not a bandwagon fan. I grew up in Manhattan, went to HS in the Bronx and lived in NYC for 30 years. The Yanks have always been my team. Sorry, you can't whip out your default insult.

Nothing wrong with that.

Look at what denial has done to Red Sox fans for the last 86 years.

I've been a Yankee fan for 15 years also myself. I'm glad we clinched. It took us so long to clinch because the Red Sox had a great season as well. Please don't go into discussing monetary issues.
