with Cliff and Campbell, they've got some big bodies and some defense against Shaq. looks like the Nets are making a playoff push this season.

as long as the Nets keep Kidd, they'll always be dangerous in my mind.

who is the bigger star? Kidd or Carter?

i think it is pretty easy to say Kidd is more important to the team (altho carter has played well). but who would you consider the biggest star on the Nets right now?

Even though he's not playing, Jefferson is the biggest star on that team.

no way, i would much rather have kept Kmart than RJ. shoot if they said they were trading RJ and a contract for KMart, i would definitely be happy.

RJ is the type of player you can build a team around (as he's already one of the best SF's in the L), I really don't think the same can't be said for Martin. He's talented, but is still a complimentary player compared to the likes of Stoudemire or even a PF like Brand.

Carter is better than RJ, the only advantage RJ has over Carter is he's younger.

RJ still hasn't proven he has the skills to be a superstar. his outside shot is still too inconsistent. and he's no MJ with the dribble and drive.

Although Carter is a better outside shooter (39% vs 34%), there's no way he's as versatile as RJ.

RJ 22/7/4
VC 22/5/4

If RJ had played more games with Kidd, his stats would definitely be of a much higher %.
Besides, would you rather have a workhorse like RJ or a player like VC who doesn't put forth the effort when he doesn't get what he wants?

hmmm

VC was 16/3/3 with Toronto
and now 26/6/5 with NJ

so, yes, he didn't play as hard at toronto, of course part of it of course is, he didn't have Kidd in toronto either. (reference to your statement about RJ's play w/o Kidd).

so, both players play better with kidd right? (kidd is a better player than either of them).

based on carters talent i'll take him over RJ still.

Both players definitely play better with Kidd (who doesn't? 😛 ) I guess it comes down to a matter of preference, b/c as of now RJ is one of the 'untouchables' in this league. Hence the juicy contract extension he received this past summer; VC is a huge talent, but he's still got issues and a reputation to repair.

i think Vince is better able to become the man, without being the man on the team. does that make any sense? people forget how freakish VC played early in his career. i'd take VC over RJ (both with Kidd, of course) because i think he can dominate better than RJ can. also because VC is more exciting to the fans and will put more asses in the stands.

Makes perfect sense to me and I think this is the best situation Vince could be in, to prove that. I mean, he isn't the best SG in the league but deep down inside, I was hoping Isiah could've pulled a miracle, y'know? 😛 He definitely is more exciting to the fans and that's why he's a guaranteed lock for the All-Star game year in and year out.

raptors really got fleeced by trading away VC for nothing! What kind of a team makes this kind of a deal. It gives me the impression that its run by a 2 year old with tantrums. I don't think the raptors will be close to making the playoffs in the next decade for making a stupid move like this. Why didn't other teams consider for a trade for VC if the raptors were so desperate in trading him.

Toronto was looking to shed salary.

we'll see what they do in the next 2 or 3 drafts.
