Every now and then I start one of these threads... well, I just heard two different eminem songs that I had never heard before, and I thought they were pretty good. They were Kill You, and Sing for the Moment. Although Without Me was entertaining, it got too much airtime which always ruins it a bit. In any case I found Kill You and Sing for the Moment to have a little more depth than Without Me. 😛

Now my favorite Eminem songs are :

-Hailie's Song
-Bitch Please Part 2
-Superman
-The Way I Am
-Kill You
-Sing for the Moment

There are a lot of other Eminem songs that I've heard, but usually I find them to be annoying and don't want to listen to em more than once or twice (I'm sorry Mama and Lose Yourself come to mind). The songs I listed here though, I can listen to quite a bit. What are your thoughts?

BTW, if you're going to bash eminem or rap, just don't bother, cause this thread isn't debating whether rap is music or whether eminem is good, bad, stupid, smart, blah blah blah.. nobody cares. Stick to the topic. Thanks. 😀

I like "Sing for the moment" and I kind of liked his movie 8 Mile too.You can say one thing for him,the kid is quick with a comeback when somebody's looking to insult him.

Lets not start another flaming thread. In my opinion , Eminem is insanely awesome when it comes to rhyming words and thinking of lyrics. Even though people look down on him and his work, I guarantee that not one of you here could do what he does..

Yeah I'd imagine that's the case when your attending anger management cleasses, those rap "beefs" are kaka. Rap being some of the only music I listen to, the Marshal Mathers LP was the only album I didn't mind listening to, before I knew he was a moron. His complaining style of rap dosen't do it for me.

For some reason he reminds me of a very bright,very sarcastic dude I went to high school with,very irritating person at times but also very funny and usually spot on in his observations🙂

Exactly. He's just the white-rapboy version of Marily Manson and Alice Cooper. It's called Shock Rock. He's getting kids to buy his album because they think it's "cool and funny" that he talks about killing his wife and trashing his mother. It's immature BS. I'm not saying he's not talented with a pen, but his choice of topics is what makes him money, not the fact that he has "Skills". I find a good bit of his songs very cheesey with no heart and just radio/kiddie airplay junk. He's got talent no doubt, but some of his songs do lack.

He's only a master at getting mindless teenager to buy albums cause "cussing is cool" and "mom and dad hate it". 🙂

lol, werd. Benzino has been talking sh*t about eminem for a long time now, one of his diss songs was called "pull you skirt up" 😀. You dont post stuff about eminem on this board, or any type of rap for the matter, here it's just considerd flame bate. Please dont say eminem has tallent, their are many greator factors that have led to his success, and there are many other rappers out there that are far better than him who don't get the attention they should.

What I forgot when reacting to "Slim Shady" was that Eminem was merely echoing the same women as bitches and ho's style of many other rappers.I don't thjink rap comes under the same classification as Shock Rock, it's primary audeiences being disenfranchised young males who largely grew up without the benefit of involved fathers in their lives.Women can be great parents but even the most well intioned mother cannot by herself usually earn enough to lift her children out of poverty while at the same time providing the regulatory influnences needed to rear well adjusted fully socialized teen age boys.So we have rappers who on one hand dis women and on the other would kill anybody who dis's their mothers...


The most frightening message isn't the lyrics themselves.. it's that we've got a legion of aggresive young men coming up without benefit of strong fathers.

I've said this on the board before and I'll say it again, but the song Renegades, there are 2 versions, is great. He spits 2 of the greatest verses he's ever written and addresses some of the issues that people have brought up with him.

And for people who say he doesn't have talent, actually listen to his lyrics or read them if you can't stand the sound of his voice. If you think all of his music is about killing his wife and doing drugs and murdering people, you fell victim to the way they decided to market him. Actually hop off the bandwagon for a moment and listen to some of his other songs.
