Yamaha Tss-1 6 Speaker Set, Doesn't work..

*sigh* I don't know much about speakers and all, but i bought a set from Amazon.com for $100.00, AR... To my disappointment, it doesn't seem to work???? not sure about that yet, or maybe the DVD player was broken, but i hooked up the system to my APEX DVD Coaxial input... Nope, didn't get any sound at all.. Is it broken or am i doing something wrong??? This is soo frustrating... I heard so many good things about this speaker, especially the ability to decode DTS and etc, but nada still..

Anyone know what i should do? Sell these suckers and get some better speakers or???

I think Apex DVD players need to be setup in order to output sound through its coax-out. It can be setup as analog out and digital-out. Digital out also has the option of outputting PCM and bitstream (you probably need to set it to bitstream). I would consult the Apex manual.
