I'd take the R1 just because of looks. But if I was racing, then the GSX-R for sure.

All of the races I've seen with GSX-Rs and R1s have the Suzukis kicking some major ass. I'd take the R1 though, because of looks. I've heard Yamahas aren't the comfortable though... I hear Hondas are the best for that.

Gixxer, I'm a Suzuki fan. I'm sure they'll both haul more ass than I'd ever need.

But for just a bit more money I'd get a Hayabusa over either. It's a little heavier, but it's also got an extra 30% displacement over those two. Plus it's the prettiest bike in production.

Though I haven't driven both, I've sat on both. I'd take the R1 for comfort. But thats based on my limited experience with them.

<< I beg to differ... The MV Agusta F4 is the best looking bike. The Ducati Superbikes (998 and 748 series) are a close second. >>

Yes...how i wish i have one of those... can't beat the quads...but geez... for $30k? and thats not even the oro! the 998R is so damn beautiful too... but i like my bike zingy... making that high pitched rev generic japanese wail. :D it just sounds like a formula one car. :) id totally rice out an R1 to make it look like the F4...hahahaha... ive seen those too... single arm conversions and underseat exhaust... heaven.

i don't know why anybody would want a Hayabusa unless they do racing or seriously hard core stunts

a bike with extremely high compression and a 1.3L engine is just too powerful. if you gunned it in first there is no way you could hang on tight enough.

The Gixxer has a smaller engine with higher compression; the Hayabusa also weighs an extra 100lbs. The Hayabusa has a higher top speed but I'm pretty sure the Gixxer can out-accelerate it.

I certainly wouldn't grab a handful of throttle unless I had a damn good reason to. I wouldn't buy one to race or do stunts. I don't foresee myself ever pulling a wheelie on purpose. I want one because it can go like a bat out of hell when I want it to, and it's a gorgeous piece of machinery.

i dont particulary like anything over 1000cc for normal use, thats like driving that 900hp charger (fast and furious) to work.
Here in michigan bikers have high organ-donor ration, the roads are really bad.

Ditto Flat, get a Ducati... BUT if you're picking R1 or GSX-R1000 the Gixxer blows away the R1 - in as much as you need blowing away on any motorcycle above 140HP! :Q

Halogen, the funny thing is the 'Busa is has a limiter on it in first and second gear for that very reason! :)

nobody needs a 1.3 in a bike man. seriously
but actualy in acceleration tests the hayabusa beats every bike there is. my bro has an awesome video clip of a hayabus burnout that is like at least 100m long :D

question is do you know how to ride (got a licence).. if yes how long have you ridden. Those bikes are not for newbies... you got respect the bike even if your not a newbie. Why? well its plain and simple.. the R1 produces about 160HP, the GSX-R1000 produces abotu 150HP..
The Haybusa produces abotu 200HP with its turbo going at full go.

If your a newbie I would suggest something a bit more docile like the GS500, Ninja 500R, Suzuki SV650(S)
