An Amazon deal. Yes, there are also wounded Amazon children out there as well.

Here's how it works.

1. Speakers are $50.99 before shipping

2. Use a coupon code found on another site for $15.00 off $50.00 in the Amazon electronics department.

3. Print out the rebate form. Rebate is for $20.00.

4. After rebate is received, ends up coming to $15.99 before shipping charge. Amazon isn't bad on shipping based on my experiences with them. Probably around $6.00 or so.

I bought these same speakers a while back during a computers4sure deal. For the price, they're a decent purchase. Also received the rebate back from Yamaha in about 6 weeks.

Not a review site, but ... we got these speakers for about $10 during an earlier deal. We found the bass/woofer very weak, the smaller units OK. They're better than run-of-the-mill speakers often bundled with mail-order PCs, but not great. If you're interested in good sound, we'd suggest you go elsewhere.

I disagree with Ribbet-I think these speakers are an excellent buy. I use them primarily to listen to CDs & mp3s and am very happy-they replaced a $180 set of ARs that a neighbor's kid blew out and are at least as good. There were reviews around the web, but I don't have the links anymore. They won't replace a good home stereo, but for computer use, they are fine. No problem for me getting the rebate.

BTW, I saw these in CompUSA a couple of weeks ago featured at $80 or $90 bucks.

Just yesterday I pricematched these at staples with onvia, which has them for $49 or so, added a black sketching pencil for $0.39 to get it above $50, and I then used a $20 of $50 to bring it to $32 shipped (free shipping). Actually, come to think of it I'm not sure why it's $32 and not $30, but anyway with the rebate it's $12. Even if they're not the best speakers in the world, still a great deal.

i have these speakers and they are excellent, the bass is great on mine, and the tiny cubes sound very good for their size. now this is not like a Klipsch ProMedia setup, but this is definetely a hot deal on great speakers!

I got these speakers about 6 months ago from an earlier hot deal, and I would recommend these to anyone looking for a great pair of speakers on a budget. The sub sounds great and the satellites put out really clear highs. Definitely a hot deal.

don't get USB, at least not true USB speakers. &quot;True&quot; USB speakers don't use a sound card and uses your computers processor for sound, two reasons that make them very crappy for playing games.


I'm looking for some decent *inexpensive* rear speakers, any suggestions? My front speakers are Altec Lansing 295's and they kick butt.

Just my 2cents:
So, everyone has at least 2 sets of computer speakers lying around and the vanilla ones sound pretty good? Years ago one couldn't get the clarity on hifi speakers at any price.
And now they're trying to get us to bootstrap a desktop into a home theatre- no way!
So, with zillions of satellite speakers, which is what computer speakers are in a subwoofer system, had for the taking, they charge $20+ for a high impedence device which is essentially a cheap speaker with toilet paper stuffed around the cone.
If I haven't bitten yet, doubt that anyone should.

I got these speakers for a good price at comp4sure for about 30 with 2 rebates from them...but never got the yamaha rebate back. Did this happen to anyone else?

OK, the $15 off $50 was removed late last evening after I posted this.

So, now the cost would be $30.99 plus shipping.

I bought these two days ago from Staples for
$39 after taxes, and after rebate they become
$19. I pricematched Onvia's price ($56 or so),
applied one of the numerous $20 off $50 coupons
and free shipping -- total of $39 including
CA taxes. If you want the black ones, Onvia
has them even cheaper - $50.

I find them very nice speakers for the price.
