Yamaha 16/10/40 loading tray problems

I just bought this drive from a local computer show and just put it into my system this morning. The tray seems to come out normal, but when it is nearly fully extended out, it starts to lag and slow down before fully extending. Is this normal? It seems normal that all cd related drives should open at a constant speed.

hey, my old yamaha 4416 does the same thing. I think it's Yamaha's style. It bothered me at first, but I got used to it.

It's normal for a Yamaha. Every Yamaha burner I have used does that from the 4416 to the 2100. I was figuring it was to prevent the tray from breaking off the stop when it hit the end going fast like other CDRoms do. Don't worry about it though. I have used 3 2100's in the past week and they all do it as well as my friends 4416 he brought over for me to test.
