Yahoo will lose this one; the Trillian guys will play cat and mouse for months if nessisary: just ask AOL.;) And thanks to Trillian Pro, this time the guys actually have money to fund their work.:p

Damn, and just after they'd fixed the MSN stuff.

Don't want to sound alarmist, but if all the IM giants do this, there's no way that Cerulean will be able to keep up.

But that'll never happen, because we all know that AOL, MSN @ Yahoo are *all for* interoperability

MSN said that older versions wouldn't work because they updated their protocol or something with MSN6, nothing to do with trying to stop Trillian working, IIRC.

yeah, Last time I heard, Microsoft told them about a flaw that would prevent trillian from working with msn. So I don't think Microsoft would care too much to stop them.

This sorta suprises me. I would think they would think this was good for their business. Regardless of if someone uses their messenger program or not, they still have to get users to sign up for their service. Although their already huge, the bigger you get, the more willing advertisements and things come into play and make their business even more valuable.

If i was starting a company, no telling how much I would pay for trillian to support my services knowing that thousands of people use it and it would be good advertisement and make it more appealing to register for the service to incorporate it in their 'List O'Messenger Systems'.
