Yahoo VS Google

Way back in 1995...........my elementary school acquired Compaq Presarios.

P133 power!

The internet had just come into being in my world........

When I saw that Netscape loading box for the first time...............*tear*

and what did it give way to?

www.yahoo.com

Oh the memories. I can never forsake yahoo. The first and the last, the beginning and the end.

Besides, Yahoo gives me updates on world news, movies, entertainment, random nonsense i dont care about AND a search box all on one page.

Google gives me a search bar. and a feeling of loneliness.

I know Google can be made to tell me what Yahoo does..........

but, Yahoo is familiar.

Even the new layout feels like home

*hugs yahoo*

Search engines are the same as just about everything else in the world in that there is no single best one for every person.

I used to not be a big fan of Google, but they've grown on me and they do offer a lot of pretty cool things. Yahoo has done some pretty good things as well.

I hope Gbuy turns out to be good, as Paypal positively sucks and needs competition to put them in their place.

Google is *the* master of algorithms.

Which is why I stay away from so many of their products, to escape their market profiling algorithms, which along with everything else they do are probably some of the best in the world. The less they know about me the better imo.

I started out with yahoo too, they've been a good friend thru the years.

I dislike Yahoo, too much crap on the search page

Yup.

It would be cool if I gave a damn about even HALF of the stuff they were showing me, but I don't, and I don't care to waste time sifting through it just to get it from Yahoo.

I don't mind at all, they seem to have me profiled well enough that the ads they show are actually interesting once in a while.
No other advertising company can make that claim, which is why Google Ads are the only ones that haven't made my AdBlock filter.
Well that, and their Googleish modest appearance, also unlike most adds.

Yahoo and MSN (Microsoft) are buying out all our television stations down here in Australia, Google is the only major search engine NOT to.

Yahoo! > Google in 1995, and through today.. it's just that people are so Google-ized now that they feel compelled to use them for anything and everything on the web, and try to justify it by saying one or two searches they made on Yahoo didn't return as much as Google, so Google must be better... that works great for me though, more bandwidth on Yahoo's side.

Edit: I love the poll BTW, all the Google fanboi's have to pick "Google FTL" if they want to vote, haha

Google lists my site in its search results. Yahoo doesn't.

Guess which one I use and prefer? 😛

And no, I am not telling you the site. Search for yourself... 😛
