Yahoo messenger spam

When Im at work I use web messenger, not the client. A few minutes ago two of my co workers (on my friends list) showed me spam they got from me. Huh? They also said they got a similar one last Friday, and I wasnt even logged in.

Ideas?

Examine in detail the headers of those messages. Sounds like your message ID has been hi-jacked.

If you can get the sender's DNS numbers, you can go to WHOIS (ARIN) and ID the sender.

I had it happen a couple years back ( I've always used the YIM client. )

I changed my YIM password, and it hasn't happened since.

I did some googling on it, and I never got a straight answer if the hack actually got my PW or if they were somehow able to spoof my account.

Regardless, still a heebies-jeebies type event.

edit: BTW, the spam "I" sent was to an executable on a website ( either russian or hk, can't remember.)
