omg i completely forgot about google docs!

No offense, but google docs is pretty bad. Just use Office 2007 FTW? It's microsoft's most important product (more important than windows btw) and is damn good. Even open office is really sucky compared to Office 2007.

I have to say Office 2007 is nice, but it's continually bloated. We upped our systems to 1GB of ram, but it's still sluggish to switch between apps and bring them forward. If they could render some speed improvements... and incorporate the UI to the mac version (Office 2008 is terrible IMO), I'd be a happy camper.

I used to like gmail the best (note that I use the classic interface for hotmail and yahoo) but a few months ago I installed Windows Live Mail and bar none, hotmail is the best so long as you are using Windows Live Mail.

I had gmail but I didn't use it because it loaded slow.
This was when it first came out though.

I'll just stick to my windows live (hotmail) account. It's perfectly fine for me.

ROFL, and MS Office, is $200+? Without decent sharing, like google docs has, and also is free? Anyways, I'd never pay for MS Office, just use openoffice if you like a desktop program.

Yahoo Mail is slow and bloated. Yahoo adds advertisements to all of your emails. Yahoo mail tends to mark a lot of non-spam AS spam.

Gmail rocks.

QFT. Op is a noob.

😕, perhaps you haven't really looked very hard into gmail because that feature has been there if not since the beginning but at least for months.

$8 a year gets you your own domain name + email through google with your domain name. Google hosted. You can have anything@yourdomain.com and use the gmail interface.

Well if you HAVE office 2007, you're obviously going to use it. We're talking about people who like freeware and don't want to pay for overpriced software

Then why not just use notepad

Obama: It's a add-on for Firefox. Download the Add-on: "Stylish" and then head to this website: http://userstyles.org/

Then look in that websites search for "Gmail Redesigned" and "Gmail Remove Ads". If those searches turn up empty, here's a link of my stylish addons. You can mod many websites as well. Like make Youtube have a black background (better for watching smaller sized videos) or have the background of Google search results navy blue.

Edit: You must first "Save/Apply" the add-on and may have to restart firefox for it to work.

I just don't see how Yahoo competes with my iGoogle homepage. Just 'click' there goes firefox, and BAM, my personal weather, news, games, email, all on one page and no clicking. Not to mention I can drag around all of the things on my page and add/subtract anything I want. A joke of the day perhaps? How about a flash game of "Defend the castle" on my desktop? No problem hehe. All the while I can see the first 10 emails I have without opening any of them on my front page as well.

What the hell am I talking about for those who haven't been reading the thread:

Every time I try to log in to my gmail account, I need to recover my password, even though it's the same one I always type in. Even when I reset it, I change it to the same one, and then when I try to log in again, it still doesn't work. I can't figure it out.

Thanks alot, much appreciated. I guess this makes gmail better yahoo!

Also for folder simulation for those who like Yahoo because of its folder structure.

Setup a filter in GMail
-Messages from: work@yahoo.com
-Send to: Archive upon receiving
-Apply Tab: Work

This way, the work emails automatically get sent out of your personal inbox and into the work 'folder' on the left pane of the window. If you receive any new work emails the left pane displaying the 'Work' tab will appear bold, and display how many new mails you have. For example Work (4). The work emails will not show up in your inbox, but rather where I just mentioned. It's kinda a simulated folder of sorts. There is, however gmail "tricks" where you can create literal folders, but I haven't done the research since my method works out very well imo.
