Right now I just have a basic account, but im thinking to upgrading my mailbox so I can get POP access...

Im wondering though, with the POP access, is that just so I can retrieve mail through outlook.. or will I also be able to send?
It says nothing about SMTP access.....anyone know for sure?

Thanks

Yes, you can both send and receive email through Outlook or any other POP client. Well worth $1.75 a month to me.

When it says POP, it means both sending & recieving. There is point selling a service that allows you to only get mail via outlook not send em. !!

POP access is restricted to those who pay extra to yahoo for their own account. Anything else is defrauding Yahoo and stealing since the service that they provide requires money.

My mom pays (like she SHOULD) for her service and she's able to send/receive just fine.

Wrong. POP does not automatically qualify sending and receiving. POP3 is the type of server, yes. But the POP protocol is specifically for receiving. SMTP is specifically for sending.

And your point is?

I don't use Yahoo POP, and AFAIK, the program will only let you download your email messages (not send). If your mother needs those services, then by all mean, she should pay for them.

Get off the soapbox.

Why don't you buy a domain for $7.95 through Godaddy.com then get hosting from someplace. I think RossMan has a few good deals for yearly hosting plans.

I'm getting tired of your crap. Do you want to take this outside? DM_Compressed?

[Edit] I just realized that DM_Compressed is indoors :|
