it will be 480p on the disk, or at least that is the way it will be encoded, whether it underwent deinterlacing or otherwise.

When it is sent to the tv...well you know the rest...

Yep.

Edit: The Superbit DVDs simply max out the bitstream to minimize compression artifacts and such.
