Honestly??? it is all these dipshits that claim it takes a natural disaster such as an earth quake for the world to start caring about them but yet don't realize that the large sums of money given to them are squandered away instead of fixing up the country as intended...

Then when the shit hits the fan, they are not prepared for a disaster, which increases the death counts during the disaster and the weeks following and the US and other countries gets blamed for not donating enough or reacting fast enough...

Haiti is and has been for the last several decades or so been a completely failed state. It's a wonder that some horrible terrorists havn't been created out of this nightmare. I suspect that if it hasn't been for the pressure cooker being realeased by Haitians leaving by whatever means to come to the United States things would have been alot more unstable.

Sadly, I think the only thing that could really save Haiti is for a truely benevolent dictator (which I don't believe exist) to save that country.

From the cold comments I've seen in this thread, more and more I feel more disconnected from my fellow countrymen.

Let's be clear, the payments, at gunpoint, were to 'compensate' France for the loss of their slaves - the Haitians the French had enslaved. It's like a thief taking all your money to sell you your things they stole.
