Just got home with it.

The gun and 2 boxes of ammo for $307 thanks to my father. The gun was $579 before tax.

Nice. I have a Colt Officer's model and a Para-Ordnance LDA (which is based on the 1911 but with an interesting trigger/safety-I like it a lot).

BTW-I paid $320 for my Colt but that was like 15 years ago.

What's the barrel length?

I want to get a 1911 after I found my great uncle's original 1911 made in 1913 worth about $3500. I think I'd want to get a .22 conversion kit too so I could save ammo most times.

5" barrel

you could probably get a fairly decent .22 pistol by itself for the price of some of those conversion kits

5" is the only way to go on a 1911. Anything else, and its not a 1911!

Nice handgun by the way. Eventually I'll get me one. I'll probably go for a cheaper rock island arsenal, but you never know.

Holster for the firearm and a spare magazine holster.

Nice! I've been looking to upgrade to a 1911 from my SA-XD for a while now. Is SA shipping holsters with their pistols now? If so, are they Galco, Fobus, etc.-made or are they no names?

Nice weapon. I have a 1911 and love it. It is a Kimber Pro Eclipse II. The 1911 is just a classic, great gun.

If they are shipping holsters with their handguns, they are most definitely NOT going to be a galco. Possibly made by fobus, but they look like generic, cheaply made injection molded holsters (just like Glock brand holsters).

Milt Sparks Versa Max 2 for the win!

I hate plastic holsters. Give me a leather Galco, Milt Sparks or even a Bianchi holster any day.
