So here's the background: I was thinking today, while washing my car. Deep thoughts and stuff, ya know? It dawned on me that, well, why should I have to have a girlfriend. After reading so many threads here and having a crappy relationship with someone who was manipulative, I see a pattern forming. I don't want to end up like so many poor saps. I can cook decently enough, and I clean better than 90% of the people I know, so why do I need a girl? Tell me the only reason you guys are in it is for the sex? Okay, so that's fun and all, but then they have your number. Eventually they start taking that away from you and you follow them around like a stray puppy doing favors and what not just to try to get a piece. I may end up old and single, but brother, at least no one will have my nuts in a jar.

edit: this is meant to be mildly humorous. However, look at the facts: girls are just as good at playing the game, if not better than you think you are. So maybe they do a lot of dumb stuff, but they're pretty good with words and making them mean some wierd stuff

I agree with everything you're saying and I partially feel that same way, but I do want to meet the right person sometime in life.

I've only had 2 serious relationships so far in life, but I do want to meet that person where I can share my most intimate thoughts with, all of my dreams, desires, and fears without having to worry about what they think of me because I know that they will understand me. I want that person to feel the same way.

2nd: Do you really have such a dreamy view of love rbloedow? Lesse, you were born in 84, that makes you about 18? You're probably going off to college, right? Give it a couple years, that starry look goes away. Now you're probably thinking, "Self, this kid is damn cynical." Well you are correct, rbloedow's self. I am a sarcastic cynic, a pretty nasty combo. I dunno, maybe I'm ruining it for you

In case anyone actually reads my posts, please remember that I am attempting a very dry humor with all I say, at least in most of my posts in OT.
