YAGT: When does a few dates turn into a relationship?

Sorry for the YAGTs, I promise to slow down soon enough. I've been dating this girl for a few weeks now, 4 dates and we've hooked up pretty often as well. But when should we have that talk about being exclusive? When does a few dates turn into a relationship?

If you blow chunks and she comes back, she's yours. But if you spew and she bolts, then it was never meant to be.

Heh, my last girlfriend said "I guess we're dating," after we had sex for the first time. I think I just said "ok."

It's one of those situations where you'll know when and don't need to ask type of things.

A few times - she's not that silly of a girl. I told her, a few days after we first hooked up, that I had a date with someone else I scheduled months ago and asked her if I should cancel - she said "of course not, it's not a big deal." which is confusing!

what's more confusing is that she's very much anti-PDA. Not that I'm a big fan, but that's how I used to tell in the past, when we're comfortable holding hands, kissing in public then it's pretty much assumed, but she said PDA makes her gag.

Well, from what she said, you guys aren't in an exclusive relationship. If that's is what you want then why not ask?

PDA is not a very good way to judge if you are in a relationship. Conversation and agreement is what works best.

Since you are getting her milk and cookies, why not just enjoy the ride?

Of course, this is going to vary greatly from person to person. I dated a few chicks who thought we were an "item" after the first date, while for others it took a couple of months.

I generally follow a 2-month rule. You date a girl for about 2 months before making any kind of monagamous commitments. It gives you both enough time to back away the other people you are dating (real or perceived), and it gives you time to see if you are actually compatible with the person on something other than the physical level.

There are exeptions to the rule as well if you are both mature about the relationship.

Edit: Wait until she brings it up.

For me it's when we both agree that it's exclusive. Otherwise it's just casual dating. Usually it's best for them to bring it up.
