was this a female friend?

every girl i know says that, but it's bull imo... you should be friends with her just enough so that she is acquainted with you... like you've hung out alone 1 or 2 times. if you're like good friends, it's going to be harder to convert into an actual relationship.

that's right. ask her if she wants to walk barefoot on the moonlit beach. :D

You're forgetting, I live on Long Island New York (North Shore Nassau County). Beach has broken glass and all the fun nasty sh|t on it.

Your friend is a wise man :D. If you're friends already, you've got something in common that you can carry over to a "relationship".

That's what I was thinking. If I knew her for a while I would jump right in and ask, but I've only known her for like 6 months, so I thought a friendship would be a better start, so we could see if compatabilities exist.

Oh for God's sake....

Why don't you just wait and let her tell you what she decided.

Cool. Go with it. My wife and I started out as friends and mutual attraction brought us together. Take it slow and see if the "chemistry" exists between you and her.

And especially not if he's taking his (stupid) friends advice and trying to "be friends first, relationship later." Here's a tip for you. There will not be a relationship later. You will be relegated to the Friend Zone. Enjoy listening to her stories of all the guys she has wild sex with.

And I can't help you without

That's fine, as long as I am one of those guys that has wild sex with her. Why are you and Rayden so negative?

it's just the way things are... though in HS people might still be innocent enough that what they said doesn't apply as much.

What do you mean? That the maybe may imply yes just because we are in High School, but anywhere else it would mean no?

First off, don't let chicks pull that "maybe" crap. Next time any chick tells you maybe, ask her what the hell she means, "maybe". Tell her this was a yes or no question, does she want to go or not. If she still says maybe, then tell her to get in touch with you when she's capable of making a decision. Second, now that you're in the "maybe" situation, get it resolved one way or the other asap.

Don't let girls play these stupid games. The sooner you nip that sh!t in the bud, the better off you'll be. You won't waste your time wondering what headtrip she's on and it's all the sooner you can go after some girl who can answer a yes or no question.

You'll come off as a Nice Guy (tm). The kind of person she can tell anything, go shopping with, and come to in distress without fear she'll be taken advantage of. In other words, the kind of guy she'd never have the aforementioned wild sex with. The most you'd ever get would be either (a) drunken remorseful booty which destroys the friendship and relationship or (b) rebound-guy booty which destroys the friendship and relationship.

By all means, work both the Friend and Boyfriend angles simultaneously. You want to be the caring, kind guy she can tell anything, go shopping with, not be taken advantage of by, but still have enough Bad Boy (tm) in you to be the guy she dreams about at night, the one she flirts shamelessly with at bars, and the one who she eventually says "You. Me. Sex. Now." to.

Good luck. :D

It's supposed to be nice on Friday, and am going out then,", then she says "Yeah, maybe." Does this mean yes, no, or actually mean maybe?

Probably means no...but it could also mean maybe. Hehe...how are we supposed to know? We can't read her mind...!

Word, And M4H is right about the "friend zone". Do not go there. You may as well be gay if you do, for you will never sniff that rose.

Ask someone else. If she gets back to you,(unlikely), you can be the play-er, instead of the play-ee for once in a row.
Tell her "It didn't seem as if you were interested. I asked you a yes or no type of question and maybe wasn't an option. So I asked someone else."

Underground and I must know the same women. I knew a girl who always gave me maybes. Usually meant she'd hang out with me if she couldn't find anything better to do. No problem, I could find better things to do than hang out with her anyway.

Maybe is usually bad sign... should have followed up with a question asking if she had plans or something. Then again, i never had a Maybe... Just "no get away from you perv"

oh and the dreaded FriendZone, though i don't think asking a girl to hang out directly leads to it but it will happen if you dont play your cards right. When you're with her, Flirt alot and ask a proper date after you finishing "hanging out". You have to make sure she knows your intrested in her, if not that Friendzone will bite you in the ass.

It means no, unless everything she has planned falls through and she can't find anyone else to hang out with, then she might consider hanging out with you. And even then there's no certainty that she'd rather wash her hair than do something with you.
