Hey ******,

We don?t have class this Wednesday because class is canceled and I though that we could work on a TV or movie script together (as suggested by your notes in my script). Maybe we could meet at a bar or something for the St. Patrick?s Day extravaganza. If you don?t want to or can?t go that?s fine too.

Scott.

Does it sound bad?

**UPDATE #2**

Got a message back:

Yeah sure. That sounds cool.

Let me know when/where is good for you.I'm done with class around 3pm, so basically anytime after that is cool with me. I'm thinking someplace not too crowded and noisy so we can hear each other talking... lol. DO you usually type ideas or write them in a notebook? I'm thinking I should bring my laptop since I type faster than write and my handwriting is horrible...

Anyway, let me know.

Sounds more like a total work meeting though :( Better than nothing :)

Remove last sentence...she knows she can say no. It show lack of confidence IMO.

id take out that last line "If you don?t want to or can?t go that?s fine too." and replace it with something more direct and confident or scrap it altogether.

edit: see? crab has the right idea..

And just say "Let's meet at a bar or someplace", dont say maybe and don't say she doesn't have to go if she doesnt want to!

asking someone out by email is a bad idea, it comes across as fearful and weak. I'm no expert but I recommend waiting until you see her again.

I just sent it. The most scary thing I ever did. It took more courage from me than I ever had to use before.

if she hadn't noticed you in the past, she would have said no.

Edit: meaning if you were a stranger and/or she didnt like you at all.

It does sound like a work meeting. This means you'll have to work all that much harder to make something personal of it... Good luck! :)
