After merely skimming through all of your posts, I have come to the conclusion that you may be THE most pathetic person here, and that says a lot.

F anything more than 6 hours and that's the reason, if that is so.

Oh I try to get by with 6 hours of sleep sometimes, and then the next day when try do my homework i end up falling asleep,
So I take a few naps or something, and in the end my sleep total ends up being like 9 hours per day.

that's what I thought. I end up working 20hrs/week and still plenty of time to spend on ATOT.:)
don't really have hw to do except prepare for lecture. on top of that, I don't have more than 6 hours of sleep in weekdays.

me too, it's awful :( I can never stay asleep for more than a couple hours so I usually get like 4 at night and 4 in the afternoon, which seems to keep me tired all the time.

What the hell kind of psych courses are you taking that they give you no free time?

Seriously, my senior year I had a full load with Statistics, Clinical Psych, Neuropsychobiology (or something like that), and another psych course that I can't remember.

I still had more than enough time to have a job AND d!ck around. Either you're an overachiever and have to have all your projects 100% perfect or you work too slowly.

We need examples. I'm too damn lazy too go searching for his posts. All I can remember is this thread and the one about friends.

Change your major to engineering. That's what all the cool kids who can't hack it in psychology/business do.

Try limiting your course load to 15 hours a semester. You will find your life to be a lot easier.

I'm looking for a relationship, not sex.
sex takes an hour, a relationship takes months to build.

these threads do not take that much time to create. I am a fast typer.

That's the point of the insult. You have created more of these threads than you've taken breaths. GET OUT AND GET A GIRL. Holy christ... this concept isn't too hard. I don't understand why you can't get it in your head.

I was able to stay around a 3.0GPA in pre pharmacy (biology/chemistry) and Computer Science without studying more than prior to tests or finals...still about 6 hours a week max, perhaps 4 hours for a final. I am sure there were a few 10-15 hour weeks, but so rare.

I knew people getting C's studying hours and hours everyday......it really depends I think on the individual. I knew a few A students in non-science majors partying more than me.

As far as meeting women goes I was married during my University of Florida days and lived off campus, but I would still meet chicks willing to do whatever (I didn't)...three of them even found out where I lived and confronted my wife to see if she wasn't just a g/f. They were psycho ya....probably drama queens as well, but it was fun.

You need to be social to meet women anywhere you go. Lately there have been alot of guys trying travel to Japan since they hear the women there are crazy about americans....but then come back and say it's not true. Fact is they would just do the same they did here, hit a club/bar, buy a drink and disappear into a corner.....last I checked women anywhere in the world avoid dark corners/places unless they have a guy 'with' them ;)

Above all if a christian college is your parents doing and not yours...put your foot down now and be an adult, otherwise you will set the stage for your life dicated onward. I know some 'religous' school grads that still run everything by their parents first....it's embarrassing.

Hey,

dont worry, going to this school was my doing, not my parents. I made the choice earlier, and now I am wondering if it was the right one. The people here at this school are wonderful, but I just dont have the time to spend with them.

Plus i just get sick and sick of all the homework. I dont care if I can buy a cadillac when I'm 30, because i got my B.A.
I would much rather live in poverty then have to suffer 4 years of this bull$hit.

oh, and by the way, people, i am a spineless little wimp, so please dont insult me. I dont care if you think im the most pathetic person on anandtech. The reason why my threads sound so 'pathetic' is because they are the words of a true human voice, not afraid to be judged by what he says.
You all know that all of you guys have these same thoughts, and some of you at the same frequency that I do, the only difference is that I am open about my human weaknesses and you guys are not.

you know what your problem is?

you do homework

F that.

F that, and get Fs, and waste my stinkin buttload of money here as a result (or my parents would lose it, in which they probably wouldnt fund any of my college expense afterwards)

haha then you're fuct

i do less than 4 hours of hw a week (except for guitar) and i got a 3.4 (would be a 3.6 but my first year killed it)

He has a point. You wnat a 3.8 or 4.0 and have less tiem or a 3.4 or bit higher and more time to have fun? That is your choice to make. (I know some of you guys got a 4.0 and had loads of fun and more power to you!)

I am busy also. I am glad I have my gf as it would be a mission to get be flirting with girls now. 1st year I had it much more easy :D. 2nd year more of a work load.

Got to sacrifice something for more time.

Why are you so desperate for a girl? You'll meet one eventually, just quit stressing over it, and be content knowing that you're doing everything you should be (well, apart from everything you're not telling us).

If you're looking for a relationship, one will come along eventually, and it'll be all candy canes and coconuts. But until then, don't worry about it.

You're a psych major and don't have any time to hang out? I'm a PoliSci major (and CJ minor) with a 3.761 GPA halfway through my second year at one of the top public schools in the nation and I've got plenty of time to work (two jobs @ about 10-15 hrs. a week EACH), and I've had a girlfriend (who goes to the same school, mind you) for more than 2.5 years. Plus, I'm on track credit-wise to graduate a semester early (although my minor might hold me back with the rest of people my age).

I don't really consider myself a Type-A personality at ALL (I usually hang around with quiet kids and don't really drink that much), but it seems to me like you're reclusing (is that a word?) yourself in your dorm room when you don't really need to be.

You need to get your priorities straight. Maybe it's just your school, but all the normal well-adjusted college kids I know have plenty of time to get their work done, get GOOD grades, AND meet girls/guys.

Why am I so desperate for a girl? I dunno. I see people areound me with their girlfriends and girls with their boyfriends, and it just seems like it seems like something that would be very rewarding. I havent had a girlfriend yet, thus i know I am missing out.
And I just want to get one soon. I've waited too long. 20 years of my life I've been waiting, and been single this entire time.

Never have held hands with a girl, never had a first kiss, never even had a mutual liking.

I could hold off and meet one eventually, but I would rather do it now than before I turn 30.

Yes, I understand how skywalker feels! I went a college with a 70% female student population, and many of those women were beautiful! Unfortunately, between work, classes, studying, coding, and commuting I had almost NO free time for dating or even socializing with anyone outside of my major :(

Looking back at my college days, I think that I should have taken a lighter class load and spent more time socializing and enjoying the party scene. In the grand scheme of life, an extra semester or two of frat parties and beer pong might have made me a more balanced person!

I'm in a pretty heavy relationship now (and don't get me wrong, I love every second of it!) but if you've never had a kiss/sexual encounter, I think you should probably be after some sort of random hookup, not a long-term girlfriend. Play the field...that's what I did in HS, and now I'm much happier with a consistent girlfriend that I love and enjoy time with.
