YAGT: The irony of college

I saved some Gen Ed for my last year or so.... Right now I'm taking only 9 hours: Diversity Management, Geography, and Tai Chi. I have TONs of time to meet women.

Somehow I think that even if you quit school, you won't be able to get a girlfriend.

No time to meet women in college ? You can meet them while walking back to your dorm room... or on your way to the shuttle (dorm <--> campus)... or while sitting in class (that's how I met my now-fiancee - I asked her for notes I missed).

The opportunities are endless at college... oh how I miss the college years.

The guy that was valdictorian, magna cum laude, etc (has to be a good school to really matter though) will usually end up being an excellent right hand man for a CEO, President, owner of a company somewhere. He will be more than likely paid extremely well, but like college...he will still be working his ass off trying to find time for anything, but work.

The guy he works for will more than likely be a 2.5-3.3GPA or worse student, possibly from a very good school, but not necessarily. He will be doing several functions out and about daily/weekly....have a trophy wife or several g/fs, etc. He was the big party guy on campus.

You can't be a screw up....however, social skills and who you know plus how well you keep them entertained plus a little know how = successful businessman. Being a anti-social, worker bee with a lot of know how and not a lot of entertainment value = office worker.

There are exceptions to this, of course, but this is the trends. The guy that made only a sort of B average wasn't less smart than the A student, he just knew there was more to the experience than solely GPA. Many of the people you meet in college will later be in high enough positions where your friendships can make you both money.

lol, reminds of a quote that my friend has up. Something like "I've accepted that the C average students will one day run the world. But they'll pay A average students like me boatloads of money to help them run it so it's ok."
