I'm pretty torn on this one. If you want it back, go ask them for it back.

It seems shady to give your GF or perhaps just friend with benefit) a phone, then ask for it back, as said in the thread, why would you want it back if the relationship had bombed. 100 dollars or not, i dont think i would want it back. Or even ask for it back and appear like an ass.
 
It's your phone. Ask her to get it back for you from her parents. If she can't use it, then what use is it to her or them? If they won't give it back, give them hell.

Read one of my above posts. I don't have pictures of her DOING anything. I've got pictures of her in the hottub, other than that nada.

Edit: Summarily, they don't like any guys except for guys in their church. Her parents have been so stringent/overbearing on her that she's rebelled against absolutely everything her parents believe in.

It's not just me.. it's all guys that aren't asian and don't bible thump.

I see, my bad. But nonetheless, if I had to guess, they simply don't trust that you'll be a good influence for their daughter or take good care of her. I won't argue whether or not they have the right to act as the date filter, but it's something you need to think about. It'll probably be harder for you to gain their trust, but if you believe she's worth the work of gaining the trust of her parents, then you'll figure something out.

btw... you shouldn't make HER pay you back. I'm lazy and so I would suggest taking the loss. If not, then ask her to talk to her parents to give the phone back so she can give it back to you. But don't make her pay you unless you're really through with her.

You'd ask your own girlfriend to pay you back for the phone you gave her? Shoot, if i were the girlfriend and you confronted me with this, i'd break up with you THAT INSTANT. She never asked you to buy her a phone, let alone pay for the service.

Sounds like you care more about the phone. If that's the case, get it back. You took a big risk getting her the phone with the knowledge of what her parents thought. You lost. Lesson learned. Move on.
 
from what i've seen and heard, the relationship is by far not worth it!

this is your opportunity to get out, and you better jump it before they finally will acknowledge you as her bf. but believe me, that's not the end of it. they'll turn you into a jesus freak and soon enough you will be in that same church they attend next to your gf and exchanging vows....so run forrest run!

I was younger than 18 at the time, it wasn't statuatory, the laws are different in Canada. I did ALOT of research into this, because I was in alot of trouble.

And I don't have any nekkid pics of her.. just rather revealing pictures.. people on this board have seen them. They're of her in her bikini and stuff.

I'm not sure how much $100 is to you but that's really no big deal. Are you in college/school? Do you have a job? I would say $100 is nothing if you have a job and asking for her to you back will detriment your relationship with her, not to mention making you look like a 'cheap' person

If you gave your gf the phone, the common law rule (at least in the U.S.) is "A gift given is gone." That means you have no right to get it (or monetary compensation) back.

If you loaned her the phone, and specifically made it clear to her that it was a loan, then you have a right to get it back. Now you just have to convince her parents that you, Mr. Smartypants, had more of a right to decide what is best for their daughter than they did, and oh, please, can I have that phone back?

Or you can ask your soon-to-be-ex-gf for the money for the phone, in which case she owes you the market value of a used phone.

Sorry, bud, but you were a tool, you got used, and you've just been abused. Welcome to the wonderful world of dating.
