YAGT: Shall I establish a cookie day? (setting up traditions)

So I'm going up to Seattle next Thursday (July 31st), for work-related stuff (I can't say what on ATOT), and it occurs to me that last July 31st was the first time I baked Revi cookies. That little event, in a way, got our friendship off on a roll.

I was thinking of maybe surprising her at lunch time with another home-baked box of cookies, and making July 31st our own little "cookie day."

What do you guys and gals think of this idea?

I was thinking it's kinda cute, and if we ever loose contact, then this "cookie day" will bring us back in touch.

Yes, I plan on having more fun with her that week than that... but that stuff isn't for ATOT.

you could also hand her a box with your testicles.

Stop this crap posting now!

You were expecting rational, intelligent posts completely unmotivated by male tendencies? :p

You will never get out of the friend zone. Instead of trying you should go look for another girl instead. The most you can hope to achieve is to be an intellectual whore or a cuddle buddy. The truth hurts.

Umm... what part of "We are just friends" don't you get. I don't want a relationship from her. You people on ATOT all have your brains in the wrong places.

My initial question was about traditions with friends. Please don't thread hi-jack.

That line was meant as a joke. We are spending the weekend in Seattle doing all sorts of stuff, none of it involving anything sexual of nature.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Around Christmas, we always have a "Santo" cake. Long story. :)

That's why I asked as well. Was this statement intentionally ambiguous?
I remember reading a thread about you and Revi previously and that thread boggled my mind. And I like to think of myself as being fairly understanding of male/female platonic relationships. If she was my gf, your actions would drive me bonkers. My gf has a number of platonic male friends and they don't have a "cookie day" or any such traditions. They just hang out sometimes and it is rarely just the two of them.

Anyway, my opinion is that I don't feel the need to be "cute" with my non-romantic interests. The closest I come to such traditions is "Let's make sure we try to eat a meal together every so often so that we don't lose touch with each other completely."
So I say nay.
Well, I mean bake her cookies if you want to, but nix doing it every 7/31.

Yes, that statement was meant to "tease the reader" a tad. looks like it just threw them off.

and to be 100% clear:

Revi and I have a strictly platonic relationship.
