Long story short, I have never been too great in the dating aspect of life.

I am 23, and until recently I had only had a limited (and mostly meaningless) dating experience (mostly in HS actually, not college). I graduated college in Dec, and since then I have developed a relationship with a young woman who is still in school. She is a smart, fun, and kind -- and we care a lot about each other.

So for anyone out there who is worried about being a "40-year old virgin" or about being unable to establish significant relationships -- have faith. These things tend to be right around the next corner.

Good for you. I too had the same background. I didn't really start dating until about 2 years ago (I'm 24 now, will turn 25 in late July) I had a meaningless GF in HS, GF in college who took my "sacredness". I've discovered a ton about myself in these past two years. There's hope for everyone, you just got to find it.

Your example is weak.

Chicks are easy... I don't know why "smart and nerdy" computer guys have trouble figuring out this one when guys who can't graduate highschool can still score chicks. It's not like you are figuring out the jumpers on an early 90's motherboard with no instructions, lol.

Once you get past the idea of women as idols(Alba, the internet, etc won't help you here) to be worshipped you then you are on the right track.

Be clean, normal acting, and have some income and you are ahead of 90% of the dudes that chicks are actively looking for. Being older and making more money is not necessarily a bad thing at this point as women are good at honing in on what is really important and that's not your anime collection. :laugh:

The smarter geeks figure this out early, lol.

What do you mean, my example is weak? You mean that because I'm 23 I am behind the curve? You are 100% correct.

But as you yourself alluded to, some "computer guys" have trouble with women for a while. I am just trying to let other 18-25 yr old guys know that you can go a while with bad luck, but it doesn't mean it will last forever, that's all.

Hey, not arguing at all.

I got lucky at 18 with my first real gf and then had a huge dryspell for a long time. I thought even at 30 that I might not ever score again.

Now at my advanced age(44) it is apparent to me that if it means anything at all to me that I can have any number of women(I have a gf(26) who I do not cheat on) but "bagging chicks" and all that is not what it's all about.
The hard part is finding, and keeping, love. Don't ask me on that.... like I said chicks are easy... this love thing, I don't know. 😛

Not worried, even if I turn out to become a "40 Year Old Virgin" because if I do, it will be by choice alone.

It is definitely starting to look like a good option. I have lost a lot of faith in my fellow man/woman.
