I only have 512MB right now, but the multitasking of large applications (Photoshop, Maya, DreamWeaver, etc.) that I do would make 1GB or more useful to me, if I could afford it. 🙁

I have 256, it's more than enough 99% of the time. It wouldn't hurt to upgrade but then again it's not exactly important, and no sense in tossing money into something so frivolous 🙂

🙂 BF1942, Command & Conquer Generals, and SimCity 4 all load and run faster/smoother with 1gb of RAM! With the current low prices everyone should go out and get a gb😛. Now I just need to get some high quality PC3200 for my Epox 8RDA+ rig.

much better with 1.5GB PC2700 from crucial

🙂

and dual 18.1 lcd. i'll stop there.

Why is it that I doubt that having a gig of RAM vs having half a gig will speed up a desktop system running desktop applications???

LOL...I was just wondering the same thing! 🙂

im running 768mb of PC2100 ddr, i doubt a jump to 1gb would make a big difference for me, what do you think?

768 should be plenty, i've looked when im playing games (warcraft III, ut2k3, etc) and i've never seen the ram usage exceed 600 or so.

running xp pro
