I only have 512MB right now, but the multitasking of large applications (Photoshop, Maya, DreamWeaver, etc.) that I do would make 1GB or more useful to me, if I could afford it. :(

I have 256, it's more than enough 99% of the time. It wouldn't hurt to upgrade but then again it's not exactly important, and no sense in tossing money into something so frivolous :)

Girl, Geek, Gig? They're all the same.

Girl + Gig = Geek
Geek + Gig = Girl
Geek + Girl = Gig

See!

i can't really tell the performance differrence between 1GB and 1.5GB.

But 1.5GB is greater than 1GB.

im running 768mb of PC2100 ddr, i doubt a jump to 1gb would make a big difference for me, what do you think?

768 should be plenty, i've looked when im playing games (warcraft III, ut2k3, etc) and i've never seen the ram usage exceed 600 or so.
