hey lets lower gas prices by putting off our purchases until tomorrow! never mind that some of you may need gas today, just don't buy it! this will force exxon and shell and bp to realize that profits are bad and lower gas prices!
 
If nothing else, maybe while you're sitting at home not buying gas you can get someone drunk and steal their kidneys!

What good will a boycott do? It's not like everyone is suddently NOT driving. They will just buy gas in few days when it is likely more expensive.

The reason gas is expensive is due to supply. There are limited amounts of gas in some parts of the country due to refineries being knocked out in Lousiana as well as pumping stations in the area not functioning.

This specious idea to "lower" demand by not buying gas is stupid. Because in general people are not driving less! People still have to goto work and there will always be some guy in a H2 with money who will pay up no matter what the price.

The only way to reduce gas prices is to change habits and drive less and buy more fuel efficent cars which will take time to do.
 
I was on 'E' and I will not be walking to work today. The demand is real, thus the prices will continue to rise. I got it at Mobile today for $2.69 per gallon which was very cheap. Directly across the street it was selling for $3.33. Anyways I am gonna vomit if I continue on this subject. It is what it is, and nothing we can do is going to change that.

Boycott? -> USELESS.
 
Also if you don't drive anywhere you won't have to worry about getting shot after flashing your lights at people who don't have their headlights on.

boycott is useless as is any kind of price rationing. only thing to do is ride it out and go after the people that are stockpiling or price gouging. i'm hoping the govt learned its lesson from 73-74 and doesn't cap the price.
 
So your idea is to boycott today, so even larger numbers come in tomorrow. In the end there will be no difference at all. If we really want to help the problem we need to allow more refineries be built. Even if they do increase oil production we are only able to process it into gas at such a rate.

gas rationing would be hilarious right now.... I can't wait to see an H2 get its ration, drive 100 yards away and run out of gas

hah if not bought today and then everyone bought tmrw its the same thing. So it never works i dont' know why people dont' grasp that issue. The prices should go down in about 3 to 5 days I have heard so dont' be worried
