Because my life time driving time is under 1 hour. I wasn't forced to do it so I never saw a need to until now. I knew I should put a hold on dating until I got one. Oh well, live and learn.

It's called "Being prepared for when the time comes and you need to exhibit your 1337 skillz" in driving. That's why people take martial arts classes before getting jumped, so they're prepared.

You won't need your backpack. Leave it. If she sees you lugging your bag she might get the impression you want to study instead. Try to treat it as an actual date, cuz it sounds like she digs you. Besides, if she really wants to study she'll bring her stuff and you two can share her book. Tell me if you see this, but it sounds like you're shooting yourself down before you even get your at bat... need to work on your approach and attitude. It's true enough that if you set low goals you won't get disappointed but raise your bar a bit. Self confidence goes a long way.
