So we all know there's an ammo shortage brought on by the buying craze due to no one trusting the gun grabbers. .22LR even .22L, very very hard to come by.
I'm signed up on the auto-notify at Natchez for the .22LR and .22L that I'm interested in. I get a txt on my phone from them that something is in stock, and finally after a quicker than normal drive home get on their website, which is crawling. Get logged in, see that it's the .22L that is in, put it in my cart. Only to then be hit with this:
Basically, because of our super smart political guys in Illinois (and, really, we know this is brought to us by the super smart political guys in Chicago and Crook Co.), I am unable to internet order ammo without sending in my FOID and drivers license to Natchez (greatly increasing the chances of identity theft, needlessly), but also now I'll need to call in to place the order, like it's 1980.
Granted, I'm a States Rights guy. So I fully understand that if I don't like it, I can just Fing move to another state. What I'm failing to understand is what is the logic here from an IL perspective? What is even the point of needing this for ammo purchases that they think it will accomplish? I can drive a few miles to Indiana and buy all the ammo I want (well, before the ammo shortage). I can buy a press, dies, powder, etc. and just roll my own. In either case, there is no real way short of me buying some uncommon and this more easily trackable rounds that they'd ever be able to track me in the case of a crime. So, given it's not going to help one iota with crime, what other than needlessly hassling firearms owners is this doing?
I'm sure by the time tomorrow rolls around, and Natchez is open and I can call in, the .22 will be OOS again. Grrr...
