Like so many people said, she's most likely using this as some kind of a test. She probably felt that since you guys weren't seeing each other that often there was a chance that you stopped caring about her (which, by the nature of your posts in this thread seems to be the case after all). The idea of "breaking up" with you probably came to her as a means to prove to her that you still want her - simply asking you isn't enough because you might lie or something lame.

I say forget her. If it was a test and she still wants to be together she'll be the one who crawls back. Then you can step on her hands and say "too bad, you screwed up." Let it back fire on her, because from the looks of it you don't care either way and she needs to learn some maturity - it would certainly help her and she'd learn not to "test" her boyfriends in the future.
